Fang and I first met 10 years ago studying Bachelor of Business at Sydney University. Our relationship endured three years of long distance while I studied interstate. We were reunited and married in 2015.
Life was going great, we finally had some savings, we managed to travel to Africa to meet children we sponsored and we put down a deposit on a two-bedroom humble apartment. And we had our baby girl Amy who just want to sleep with her mommy every day.
Unfortunately, life has unexpectedly taken a turn for the worst. Fang’s vague symptoms turned out to be an aggressive form of Stage 4 Bowel cancer that was diagnosed in June after months of waiting on elective public hospital. She has had to stop her work. Treatment has since involved an admission for intensive chemotherapy treatment. A recent scan has shown a blockage in her stomach which might indicate that treatment isn't as effective as we hope.
Currently there is no cure for this terrible cancer. Many specialists recommended drugs that are considered to be more effective in improving quality and length of her life. There is a problem though. These drugs are not funded by PBS. The cost of the immunotherapy is projected to be around $300,000 for two years treatment, not including scans, specialist consultation fees, and lost income. This is a massive amount for our current financial situation.
I am obviously going to come up with as much money as I can, but this will still be way short of the $300,000+ required. I believe that this is Fang’s only option to have a fighting chance of living a normal life.
Fang is one of the most caring people you will meet. She’s loves for her family and determination to live and see her child grow were behind her extraordinary strength and willpower to beat these otherwise insurmountable odds so far.
Please help Fang to get her health back and be with her daughter.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read our story, may Karma be with you and come back to you tenfold!
