Hello everyone, I have started this Gogetfunding account to help give my grandmother a fighting chance. Over the pass couple of weeks, and several months ahead, my eighty year old grandmother has been to countless doctor appointments and hospital stays. As you can imagine the medical costs of the tests, scans and doctors' visits have been overwhelming.

She has been experiencing a lot of issues lately and we have been accompanying her to clinics to determine the cause. It has been an ongoing battle with her health. Several months and countless scans later, it was determined that she has a condition with her parathyroid gland which is one of four really tiny glands in her throat.

This alone was the cause of many other complications for my grandma. She has hypercalcemia which means that her calcium levels are unusually high. The hypercalcemia is a result of her having an enlarged parathyroid gland. She have been experiencing high blood pressure, heart palpitations, fatigue and chest pain. We had hope that this was easily treated but unfortunately, my family and I have been told that her condition would require surgery to correct her parathyroid gland and hopefully alleviate her other symptoms in the process.

Despite this hinderance, my grandmother is truly a fighter. She has spent all of her life taking care of other people and putting everyone's needs first in front of her own. She has beaten breast cancer with a smile on her face. She fought like the champ she is and I admire her for that. Now, I want to take care of her in return.

It has been extremely difficult for our family to navigate through it all since the majority of the income goes directly into her medical bills which puts a lot of financial strain on everyone as it is hard trying to make ends meet. On top of her medical issues, the roof of her house is in dire need of repairing. It is plagued by termites and there is significant leakage throughout the rooms in her home. We are in the beginning of hurricane season and the roof is depleting as each day goes by.

Currently, since resources are at an all time low, it is devastating that her roof cannot be fixed and funds for her surgery cannot be attained at this time. I pray that everyone finds it in their heart to help my grandmother out. Any small amount would be greatly appreciated. I humbly asked that you share this link to friends, family or anyone that you may know as well. I sincerely thank you all for the support.

Yours Sincerely,

Xavier
