Help Family Stay in Home

We are raising money to be able to stay in our home.  We have 3 boys, our middle son died from cancer almost 4 years ago, yet the medical bills kept coming, funeral expenses, etc.  We went through EVERYTHING we had and then some since that time, the rest ended up on credit cards that we cannot pay.  My husband was laid off right after our son's diagnosis and I was a stay at home mom to our three little boys.  It was a mixed blessing, however that he was laid off.  He was able to spend time with our dying son that he otherwise would not have.  However, everything has snowballed and although we both work now, the mountain of debt that was created has taken it's toll.  We have considered bankruptcy and will do that if fundraising doesn't work.  We just wanted to make sure that we exhausted all resources before filing, as we know it will stay on our credit report and follow us for 10 years....knowing that this debt was from our son's medical treatment haunts us and we just want it to go away.  It is a constant reminder of the 18 months of torture that our son endured and then ultimately, his premature death.  I think had the two things not happened at the same time, we would be fine, but having a child with cancer AND the breadwinner of the household (and insurance) get laid off at the same time just really did it for us and a few years later, we are actually worse off than we were while in the middle of everything.  If we cannot come up with the money to settle these medical debts, we will lose our home.  We don't mind because we know that it is just 4 walls and a door, but it's the only home our son had known and it would be nice to leave when we are ready and the time is right to move on.  Our other two little boys are devastated at thought of having to leave our home under circumstances that are out of our control.  We promise to any and all that help us, we WILL pay it forward when we are on our feet again financially.  We realize that things can change in a heartbeat, literally, and do not take anything for granted anymore.
