Help Families Afford Vehicle Costs

Help me help the many families in the community that can not afford their vehicle costs. Whether it's unexpected repairs, failed smog check, the deductible after an accident, or the vehicle registration itself, we all know how expensive it can be to just get a safe/legal vehicle on the road. For so many families the choice between fixing a worn out/unsafe vehicle or feeding their children, children win every time (as they should). This means driving in an unsafe, not to mention inefficient vehicle just to make ends meat. When that problem you've been putting off out of necessity turns into a completely disabled vehicle, or worse an accident, then you have no viable way of getting to work. For some people this means having to loose basic necessities or valuable time with their family because of now having to rely on public transportation. Depending on your location, if you have a normally 1 hour commute, by car, then that could take 3-6 hours, by bus or train. This is less time spent with family or sleep or both. With the help of even a couple hundred dollars (that they do not have) could make the difference of getting them back into a reliable, and most of all safe vehicle. I have started a non-profit, Salus Vehicle Services (pending application), and I want us to be able to help these families, and help the environment by getting the inefficient vehicles repaired. This will not only help families and the environment, but it will also help the local businesses that will not be able to do the repairs that they would normally be told no to. This will help keep the rest of us be safer on the road, due to safer vehicles being on the road, and most likely there will be more insured since people will have the money that is not spent on repairs.
