As many of you know, I will be attending the World Scout Jamboree in Japan this summer. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to represent my country, region, county & area at an international Scouting event. In the summer of 2013 I went through multiple selection process's to be chosen to be 1 of 16 Girlguiding members from South West England (only one from Devon) to attend the World Scout Jamboree. At the Jamboree, I'll be doing everything: from learning about the culture and religion of the 161 countries attending, to the engineering solutions and science happening in Japan, to doing community projects as well as visiting the Hiroshima site on its 70th anniversary year. (More information on the Jamboree's activities here). The fee for me to go is £3000 (including my kit) and a percentage of this goes towards the fees for countries participants which are worse off than us in the UK. I have been fundraising via bingo nights, cake sales, sweet stalls, bag packing and saving my own money.  I plan to also fundraise via the Monopoly Run (April 11th) which is a competition in groups to visit as many of the selected London monopoly locations within 9 hours via walking, train or bus.If you'd like to sponsor me for this please see the online document here. Any donations on this page (or in person) would be gratefully received.
