Campaign Story
Our beloved daughter Eva, 8 years old, has been recently diagnosed with cancer, leukemia. It was a big shock for everybody in the family, including our three older kids. Although we don't have to pay for her chemotherapies or hospital expenses, as all these are paid by the Greek state, there are so many extras which are not for free. She has to take many pills per day, cortisone, pills for her stomach, pills for not feeling nausea. Two cables are attached to her body, which have to be covered by a specific bandage, which costs 17 euros and has to be changed almost every day. Her dietary needs have changed, as everything she eats must be sterilised. Also, although we returned back home, we have to visit Elpida hospital almost every day, for her regular chemo. We have tried to sell part of our property, as we thought this was the one thing we could do to cover her medical expenses, but, due to economical crisis, there is no interest at all...
Η μικρή αγαπημένη μας πριγκίπισσα Εύα, είναι 8 χρονών και τους τελευταίους 2 μήνες παλεύει με τον εφιάλτη της λευχαιμίας. Η Εύα είναι η μικρότερη από τα 4 αδέρφια της. Είναι ένα κορίτσι γεμάτο όνειρα και ταλέντα. Της αρέσει να ζωγραφίζει και είναι υπεύθυνη με ό,τι ασχολείται. Τα έξοδα για την πολύτεκνη οικογένειά μας έχουν γίνει δυσβάσταχτα κι ο καθημερινός αγώνας μας με την ασθένειά της ένας μαραθώνιος χωρίς τέλος.
Αν θέλεις και μπορείς να βοηθήσεις την Εύα, η μικρή σου δωρεά θα μας δώσει ελπίδα. Αν δεν έχεις τη δυνατότητα, μια κοινοποίηση θα βοηθούσε. Σας ευχαριστούμε όλους εκ των προτέρων.

Update posted by Eftychia Michou at 11:41 amΟ Οκτώβριος της Εύας ήταν σίγουρα ο πιο κουραστικός Οκτώβριος... Η διάθεσή της είναι ανεβασμένη, χαμογελάει συνεχώς όπως πάντα. Οι δυνάμεις της όμως σιγά σιγά την εγκαταλείπουν, και αυτό φαίνεται στα μάτια της.Αναρωτιέται συνέχεια πότε θα δει πάλι τους φίλους της, πότε θα ξαναπαίξει, αν το επόμενο καλοκαίρι θα μπορεί. . . . .

Update posted by Eftychia Michou at 10:53 amThis month went by with its ups and downs. Eva had to be hospitalised three times,as she developed fever and diarrhea. Despite the fact that her body is melting day by day, she remains the ray of sunshine of Elpida hospital! Her spirit is so high, and as she told. . . . .
Eva' s August
Update posted by Eftychia Michou at 08:47 pmAugust passed, with its good and bad moments. Eva had to be hospitalized for five days, as she developed a fever, diarrhea and vomiting. The doctors wanted to make sure that these were side effects of the chemotherapy and not the effects of a germ from the environment. As her. . . . .
