Help ErynCerise Get a Not-Ancient Computer + Editing Software!

Hi! My name is ErynCerise and I make YouTube videos about anime idols and magical girls. I currently do so on a 2009 iMac and an old copy of Final Cut Express, which is no longer supported by Apple. At this point, Final Cut Express has become a very limiting program for my work. It lacks many of the features of modern editing suites, is incompatible with a massive number of video formats, and takes approximately 10 million years to render anything other than the one very specific codec and aspect ratio. 😑

I would love to upgrade my software, but unfortunately my computer is old enough at this point that I know it would not handle something like Final Cut Pro well. The video card in particular is a big bottleneck, which also restricts me from playing graphics-heavy video games and makes live streaming anything more intense than a visual novel almost impossible.

So... yeah. I can't upgrade my editing software unless I upgrade my computer. And I can't upgrade my computer because I don't tend to have a spare $2,000.00+ CAD laying around at any given time.

That's where (hopefully) you come in! I know that this is far from the highest priority thing you could be throwing money at right now, but if you like my work and want to see me continue making it, I would hugely appreciate the support. And if I may be extra treacly about this: it just so happens to be my birthday this month~ 🎂 And I can think of few presents that would improve my life more than a computer and software that can actually handle my video production needs.

To show my gratitude for your support, I'm including a few incentive rewards with this campaign! Whether the campaign meets its goal or not, I plan to make a thank you video in March for donators. Anyone who donates $10 or more will get their name onscreen and read out by me in the video, and those who donate more will get additional fun stuff as well. Most notably: if anyone is generous enough to donate $500 CAD or more, I will give that person my Love Live JP account and make a special scouting video with them to pass the torch on that account.

For transparency's sake: the goal amount represents the estimated cost of a standard 21.5 inch 2017 iMac with 3GHz Retina display and upgrades for 16 MB DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB Fusion hard drive + tax. Final Cut Pro on top of that would be an additional $400.00 CAD, and if we can hit that too, great! But I will consider the campaign successful even if only the computer is funded.

Also: if you already donate to me via Patreon, don't feel obligated to also donate to this (although you are certainly welcome to!) Hopefully the funds from Patreon for March can be used in combination with this campaign if it doesn't quite meet its goal. March patrons will be thanked in the donor video for this as well.
