I am trying to raise money so my daughter and son-in-law can adopt a baby. My daughter, Eryka, at the age of 32 was diagnosed with Adenomyosis after suffering YEARS of very painful menstrual cycles which included very heavy bleeding. She also had many cysts and fibriods in her uterus which made her infertile. After having a grapefruit sized cyst removed from her right ovary, her and her husband, Andrew, tried getting pregnant for 3 years with no success. After finding out that she had more ibriods along with an enlarged uterus she made the courageous decision to have a complete hysterectomy. This was the hardest decision that we as a family had to make. The pain from the Adenomyosis was unbearable for Eryka and we didn't want to see her in pain anymore. Making this decision however means that she can never bare children. Well, she had the surgery at the beginning of January 2015 and she has recovered well. Thankfully she did have the surgery because her uterus was 3lbs. instead of 3oz. It took the surgeon over 3 hours to remove and he said it was like a bowling ball sitting on her bladder.
Adoptiong has always been in the back of all our heads, but now it's the only option. I can sympathize with my daughter because my husband and I were unable to have children and we adopted Eryka as a newborn. We have felt blessed every day since. We just want to help our daughter and son-in-law compelete their family by adopting a baby boy or girl. They even have names picked out - for a boy it would be Andrew Jr. and for a girl it would be named after Eryka's grandmother's Catherine Zofia. We want to make their dreams come true.
