Help Erick pay for his surgery

My dear friend Erick who I met in Kenya four years ago had an accident lately, where his left hand got scolded by boiling cooking oil. He was cooking dinner one night, when accidentally the pan he was using turned upside down, and hot cooking oil was poured all over his left hand. This resulted in most of the skin being burned off of his hand, creating one large flesh wound extending from his wrist all the way out to his fingertips. I would post pictures of his hand without the bandages on, but the injury is extremely severe, and the pictures are graphic to say the least.
Erick has been in hospital for the past month receiving the only treatment he’s been able to afford. What he really needs though is to be transferred to a hospital in Nairobi where he will receive a skin transplant. Doctors have explained to him that without this surgery, his hand might never function again. The price of such surgery though is far from what most Kenyan families are able to afford. So far his family have been working hard to raise some of the funds, but are still far from able to cover all the expenses. This, leaving them standing powerless by his side.
It’s not in Erick’s nature to ask anybody for money, but the nature of his situation and the desperation he now finds himself in, has led him to reach out and ask for help. Since he’s already been in hospital for so long without surgery, it’s now a race against time before he will lose functionality in his hand.
He’s explained to me that he’s afraid, and losing hope. The past month in the hospital can best be described as a torturous state of limbo, where he’s not recovering even slightly, barely receiving sufficient medication to stop him from being in constant pain. Due to the hospital being understaffed, he’s unable to receive medication during the night. This means that he spends every day from dusk until dawn in a living nightmare, where he has to endure several hours of excruciating pain until the doctors come back in the morning.
I’m determined to help my friend out of this terrible situation, but I’m unable to do it all alone. That is why I reach out to you as an extension of the plea for help Erick has made. Please, if you are able to donate , even just a small amount, it will be greatly appreciated. It will make the world of a difference and have a direct impact in the life of a kind-hearted person who does not by any means deserve to be in the dire situation he is in at this very moment.
