Help Emma Breathe

Emma is our 12 year old dog suffering from Laryngeal Paralysis & cannot breathe.

 Laryngeal paralysis in animals is a condition in which the nerves and muscles that control the movements of one or both arytenoid cartilages of the latnyx cease to function, and instead of opening during inspiration and closing during swallowing, the arytenoids remain stationary in a somewhat neutral position.  

Emma passed out 2 weeks ago, when she was overjoyed with excitement as we got home from work and her heavy breathing caused the muscles to completely block her airway. As we panicked with fear, Emma started weezing and eventually regained her breath.  We rushed to a vet, then refered to a specialist.  

Emma was scoped and has not one, but both cartilages paralyzed.  Immediate surgery is required to relieve her suffering.  The burden of the expense is too heavy for our personal budget and we are relying on the conpassion and support of others.  The estimated cost is $2,800 - $3,000.
