Campaign Story
Ellie The Wonder Horse needs Help! Ellie is a 5 year old mare that means the world to us. She has had a rough start in life, and was rescued by a nice lady, and then she came into our lives. Last week, Ellie suffered a bout of Colic. This in turn, became Colitis, which is inflammation of the colon and intestines. Medications were given, and these medications helped the Colitis, but Colitis has secondary problems, one being Founder. Founder is when the cannon bone in the hoof tears away from the hoof wall and rotates, causing lameness and pain. Treating her for founder and getting bloodwork, it was discovered that she is also in kidney failure. Her vet bills are climbing fast, and we will not give up on Ellie, she is a fighter and We lover her! She is needing to stay at the vet clinic and receive mass amounts of fluids and a gastric hose to clear out her kidneys so she may heal. Please help us help her. We won;t give up, Ellie is not giving up, and we want her healthy again! Any donation amount is a help!

Ellie back home
Update posted by Patricia McWilliams at 01:54 pmEllie had 12 liters of fluids given yesterday. We also had to have her shoes taken off, and her feet trimmed to help alleviate any discomfort from the Founder. She laid down twice, but was able to get back up on her own. Thank you to Palmetto Animal Clinic, Dr.. . . . .
Vet visit
Update posted by Patricia McWilliams at 12:59 pmEllie has been at vet all day getting fluids. We are also going to have to sedate her so we can remove her front shoes. She is hanging in there.
