Help Edwin Walk Again

Some of you may know Edwin. He was a driver in Kuwait working with many bankers and other business people visiting the country.

Edwin was living in Kuwait for over 40 years and enjoyed being in the country he was considering home. He always enjoyed talking about stories from the past and giving a positive impression about this striking country.

Unfortunately, in August 2013, Edwin suffered a stroke which paralyzed most of his body after being in a coma for several days. Edwin recovered somewhat some mobility including his ability to talk again but was informed that most of the effects from the stroke were irreversible.

Not being able to work anymore, Edwin was kicked out the country in November and had to return to Sri Lanka, his home-country.

His family is trying to help him but from modest backgrounds isn't able to cope with the medical expenses. Most of his cure consists in herbal treatments to relieve his pains, which induce already high costs.

The fundrise is aimed to improve Edwin's living condition and to give him a chance to start therapies to improve his mobility.

There are good chance that he will be able to walk again but it demands time in specialized institutions for him to learn again.

I had Edwin on the phone the day he departed Kuwait and he was crying as a child, sad and scared at the same time. I promised him I would help and the best I could think of was to launch a fundrise. The funds will be sent to Edwin's wife who is standing next to Edwin on the picture. She is now in charge of the family since Edwin became handicapped.
