Help educate children in Bolivia

My name is Laura Meyer, I am a student of communications, political science and cultural anthropology in Germany. I am on an internship here in the great city of Cochabamba in Bolivia in a non- profit organization called Yo voy a Ti.

Yo voy a Ti was founded in 2008 by a group of young people, with the aim to provide basic needs such as food, clothes, affection and medical attention to around 120 children and youth, as well as 60 older people living on the street.

How YOU Can Help

Our programs include a soccer school, a microfinance project, and a mobile health clinic, but we are currently working on establishing a Mobile School, starting next month on September 4th.

The goal is not only to give basic education to the children and youth living on the streets of Cochabamba, but to also build up their confidence and self-esteem. The mobile school is a cart on wheels, with extendable blackboards and can easily be set up and removed. Most of the education programs will be done through games and activities that can be placed on the given board, carried out by two qualified teachers. The educational material will focus on:

1. Self-esteem 
2. Literacy
3. Creative Therapy
4. Health Education
5. Learning through play
6. Social and communication skills
7. Rights of minors
8. Prevention of drug
9. HIV Prevention

For this amazing project to be successful, we depend on financial sustainability and I would like to invite you to share with us the joy and gratitude of fulfilling this valuable program.This fundraiser's goal is to pay the salaries of the two professors, all the necessary transportation costs, and materials for 14 months.

Mein Name ist Laura Meyer, ich studiere Kommunikationswissenschaft, Politikwissenschaft und Ethnologie in Bamberg und mache ein Praktikum in der wunderschönen Stadt Cochabamba, Bolivien bei einer Non- profit Organisation- Yo voy a Ti.

Yo voy a Ti wurde 2008 von einer Gruppe junger Leute gegründet, mit dem Ziel, Grundbedürfnisse wie Nahrung, Kleidung, Zuneigung und ärztliche Hilfe für rund 120 Straßenkinder und -jugendliche, sowie 60 ältere Menschen, zu stellen.

Wie DU helfen kannst

Unsere Programme sind sehr vielfältig. In unserer Fußballschule bieten wir den Kindern und Jugendlichen drei Mal die Woche die Möglichkeit, sich aktiv zu betätigen und ihren Teamgeist zu fördern. Weiterhin unterstützen wir Jugendliche mit unserem Mikrofinanzprojekt. Dieses gibt ihnen die Chance die Straße zu verlassen und ihr eigenes Leben in die Hand zu nehmen. In unserer mobilen Klinik bieten wir den Jugendlichen die notwendige medizinische Grundversorgung.

Unser Ziel ist es nicht nur den Straßenkindern die nötige Bildung zu geben, sondern auch ihr Selbstvertrauen und Selbstwertgefühl aufzubauen.
Zur Zeit arbeiten wir an der Errichtung einer mobilen Schule, welche ab dem 4. September startklar ist. Die mobile Schule ist ein Wagen auf Rädern, mit ausziehbaren Tafeln, welche man schnell auf- und abbauen kann. Das Bildungsprogramm wird vor allem durch Spiele und verschiedene Aktivitäten durchgeführt, in Begleitung von zwei professionellen Lehrern.

Der Unterrichtsinhalt basiert auf:

1. Selbstvertrauen
2. Fähigkeit zu lesen
3. Kreativität fördern
4. Bildung in Gesundheitsfragen 
5. Lernen durch spielen 
6. Soziale und kommunikative Fähigkeiten
7. Rechte von Minderjährigen 
8. Drogenprävention 
9. AIDS Prävention

Damit wir dieses wunderbare Projekt nachhaltig führen können, sind wir auf finanzielle Hilfe angewiesen. Daher sind wir für jegliche Unterstützung sehr dankbar und ich möchte euch einladen, mit uns dieses wertvolle Programm zu ermöglichen. Das Ziel dieser Spendenaktion ist es, die Gehälter der beiden Professoren, alle notwendigen Transportkosten, und Materialien für 14 Monate zu zahlen.
