The goal of this campaign is to generate funds to help fund a lake dredging and fish stocking project in the Benin community of Dohi (West Africa) .
Dohi is a small village with a population of around 2000 people. Because it is a small island, the population relies heavily on fishing, with 95 percent of men and women selling their catch at a nearby city market.
The funds will be used to feed and provide for their families. However, in 8 recent years, the lake has produced fewer fish, which has had a significant influence on the people and their halieutique activities. The lake is heavily clogged with sediments and urgently need dredging. The funds raised will assist in this endeavor, as well as stocking the lake with fish. How the situation affects heavily more women and children because its adding to more poverty in the village and also affects the health of the children because not enough food and no money to go to the hospital when they are sick. Just a bad situation as a whole…
