Urgent funds needed for Donut's life saving surgery
Donut is a sweet stray cat that has been coming to the neighborhood and was being fed by my family & other neighbors. We planned to take her for spaying (CNR) but she suddenly disappeared for a few weeks, she returned two days ago looking very tired/unwell and her breathing looked labored so we took her to the clinic where she was diagnosed with having diaphragmatic hernia in addition she is also pregnant now which adds to the complication.
She is just one of many, many stray and abandoned cats here in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the Middle East. And I'm just one of the very small number of rescuers here, dedicating most of our personal time and money to save their lives and re-home them. There aren't any government funded shelters or vet clinics here and the huge numbers of suffering animals on the streets, in the desert ...... everywhere, is enormously heartbreaking to see. The extreme temperatures coupled with the lack of food, water and shelter (and a generally 'unwelcoming' human population) results in cases so severe that should NEVER EVER happen in this day and age, to ANY living being. So we know what we do makes a big difference to those we help and we will never stop. Yet due to a lack of funds, we sometimes have to make very difficult and sad decisions, which in Western, and more affluent countries, would never have to be made. We are in such a situation currently with Donut now, and we are choosing to help her to fight for her life!
Donut needs to have urgent surgery for the hernia and her pregnancy needs to be terminated. It will not be an easy surgery but the vets will try their best & we believe Donut deserves this chance. We need help with raising funds for her surgery which is estimated to be around £300 (this includes the cost of x-ray, hernia surgery & spaying). We will update the post once we have an invoice from the clinic. Donut needs everyone's help & prayers to survive and so we are pleading for help in the form of donations to save her life and we cannot do this without your help, even just a small amount will help her. Any amount towards her treatment/ medical expenses will be highly appreciated, every £ will make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support. We will post updates and the expenses along her road to recovery. If you would like more detailed information we are happy to provide this to you, do please contact us.
