Help Donnalyn Corpuz Raise Fund for Her Kidney Transplant

Donnalyn Corpuz, 42 years old, was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease secondary to Hypertensive Nephropathy (Stage 5 End-Stage Renal Disease) on February 3, 2017. Prior to her diagnosis, she used to be hypertensive with her ‘usual’ 180/130 blood pressure.

She’d been undergoing dialysis for four years and nine months now. But as we all know, dialysis is not a lifetime solution. Getting dialysis treatments three times a week for four hours costs P5,000 per session. Apart from the financial stress, she would feel tired, terrible headaches, and dizziness after each session.

Eventually, her doctor recommended a kidney transplant. A kidney transplant offers patients more freedom and hopes to live a longer, healthier, and normal life but it will take time to look for a willing donor and it usually costs around 1.5 to 2 million Philippine pesos.

Donnalyn is out of work. Her husband’s salary is not enough to finance her dialysis, maintenance medications, surgery, transplant, expenses, and feed their three children, ages 13, 9, and 7. To help augment their daily needs, Donna sometimes sells products online when she’s feeling better.

I know this is a difficult time for everyone, but studies show that helping others can also benefit our own mental health and well-being. As Luke 6:38 said, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good portion — packed down, firmly shaken, and overflowing — will fall into your lap. The portion you give will determine the portion you receive in return."
