This fundraiser is for my nephew Dickson Muraguri Maina who was involved in a fire accident that left him with fourth degree burns from waist downward.
On the night of July 2, 2019 fire broke out on the residential house where Dickson was after a gas cylinder he was cooking with exploded.He tried to escape the inferno but unfortunately, just before he reached the door he stumbled and fell down.His clothes that he wore were on fire and he crawled in pain as he cried for help only to pass out as he reached the door. Fortunately neighbors who had turned up to help broke down the door and rescued him.
He was rushed to Nanyuki General Hospital for treatment but later transferred to Jamii Nursing home where he underwent intensive burn treatment under care of specialists.
His condition deteriorated and was transferred to Rift Valley Hospital, burn unit where he has been receiving special care and treatment. He underwent several operations as well as non operative therapies that have greatly improved his health condition.
As he recovers, we as his family are appealing for financial assistance to cater for medical bills as well as scheduled surgery costs that have surpassed the amount catered by his Health insurance cover.
The goal is to see him undergo intensive deep tissue grafting to restore muscles and external skin that was completely burned out & an orthopedic surgery has been scheduled to facilitate joint movement around the knees that will greatly enable him walk again.

Any financial support given will help a lot in the recovery of my nephew. We have received enormous support from family and friends but we are still struggling to meet the financial requirement to facilitate the surgeries, medication &rehabilitation needed.
This may be a daunting task but we know we will pull through with your help.
