Help Diana fight cancer

Diana is 56 years old. She is my close friend, who saved my life in 2018 when I had a stroke and a ruptured aneurysm in my brain, and without whom I wouldn’t be here today. She is a single mother, caring daughter, sister, aunt. Diana is a friend who is always here for all of us.

Because of this, today I am asking for help from all of you for a woman who has always put everybody else’s needs above her own, and now she is fighting for her own life. Diana is suffering from a malignant Non Hodgkin lymphoma cancer (she recovered from uterine cancer in 2007), and she’s been on sick leave for a year already, in order to undergo various medical examinations, breast puncture, surgery and chemotherapy. As if that wasn’t enough, she was fired from her job and is now living without any income after 33 years of employment.

Since 2007 she has been paying off a bank loan for her 55 m2 apartment, which she bought because she wanted to make a home for herself and her daughter. Due to the difficult economic circumstances in the country, she has been struggling to pay the installments, and from now on it will be impossible. Because, you see, she took a loan of 55.768,58€, but as a result of the financial crisis and wild currency rampage of CHF from 2008 to 2010, her loan doubled. Until now, she has already paid off 58.464€, and she still needs to pay 46.756€. If she was able to pay it all now, she would need 35.072,59€ and this way she would avoid the usurious interest of the bank that doesn’t even want to allow a grace period while she’s undergoing treatment and looking for a job. On the contrary, the bank is already threatening to confiscate her apartment.

Where is she supposed to go with her sick 82 year old father, who is also under her care? How can she remain calm and focused on her treatment and recovery? How to afford money for food, medicine, commute to another city for therapy, and even searching for a new job, if she is constantly in fear of losing her home? She is holding on courageously on the outside, but I can notice when she has been crying, and I can see how this woman, that used to be brave and full of laughter, is now sad and powerless. And I fear for her.

Therefore, I am asking you, kind hearted people, to join your forces with me, so that together we may help her pay off what is left of her bank loan (35.000€), because the bank will not allow her more than 90 days. I am begging you to help her so that together we may remove this weight from her shoulders, so that she can get good quality healthcare, find a new job, and live a life that she deserves; a life worthy of a woman who has always been there for everybody else. Please help me bring back the smile and hope in her eyes.
