Help Dexter fight IMHA

Hi I am Dexter, a Singapore special mongrel, born on Jurong island, fostered at 4 months old to a heartland location in singapore and adopted by my fosterers after spending 4 years with them who gave me a permanent home to love me.

I am 6 years old now, goofy and loveable but suddenly I got sick and diagnosed recently with IMHA(Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia). My immune system is attacking my own red blood cells and diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, jaundice & haemolytic anemia.

I have done 3 blood transfusion and receiving treatments like steroid suppressant, cyclosporine, antibiotics to treat tick fever possibility for 4 days already.

Signs of positive climb in my reticulocyte is showing I am a fighter producing my own red blood cells and my owners are not giving up on me.

Already the bills have touched the SGD$10,000 mark and I understand that its both mentally and financially constrainted for my condition that is making them emotional challenged to make a right decision and all I want is my happy, goofy and loving character back but again I am tired due to my loss of red blood cells and in need for the next cycle of treatment which could be more costly. and longer time frame in the hospital.

A blood transfusion with blood type confirmation and etc test is $1,000, hospital care would stay around $200 a day, blood test and treatment can range from the $800-$1,500.

Today, news broke that I would need my 4th transfusion because my blood sample is delayed in custom to the USA for a PCR result to know exactly what is happening and again my HCT is reading only 10% at 6am.

I would need IVIG treatment and etc which estimated bill can run between $25,000 - $30,000 over this prolong period.

I hope everyone who had read this message could help me and my owners go through this together. I am a fighter, my owner will not let me down and I hope the community can help me get through this together.

UPDATE: 27th Feb 2021,10.22am. Dexter's heart stopped and had passed this morning after a good fight, instead of us making a decision for him on what alternative treatment in place he can do. We are sadden but also hearten by the amount of funders who came forward and decide to help in his treatment.

There are many backers who came forward and as the further treatment did not happen except for the 4th transfusion and 3rd agent suppressant used, we will refund to those whom have came forward and for those who still wish to donate and fund, we also thank you from the bottom of our heart again
