Hi, I'm Marica Onglao, I just want to ask for any amount of financial help for my brother-in-law Dennis Onglao who is now admitted at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute.

Kuya Dennis was diagnosed with End stage renal disease (ESRD) in 2013. He received hemodialysis treatment during those times until his brother (my husband) LC brian donated one of his kidneys and they underwent kidney transplantation. Kuya Dennis lived a normal life after the successful surgery but needs to take his immunosuppressant (anti-rejection drugs) as his maintenance medication for life.

Unfortunately, last week Kuya Dennis was then rushed to the emergency room of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Las Pinas due to breathing difficulties and urination problems, diagnostic and laboratory test was done and revealed that he had a high level of creatinine in his blood which the doctor advised him to undergo hemodialysis. Since his nephrology was originally from National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), he was then transferred to this hospital in order for his nephrology to manage him well. At NKTI, he underwent hemodialysis and blood transfusion, he was also given medications to stabilize his condition.

At present, his wife is processing his papers to transfer him from a private to service (charity) account but they need to settle the remaining balance on the private account first before they can be allowed to be transferred to service (charity). The hospital bill that they need to settle amounted Php 300,000. And he also needs to undergo a kidney biopsy to monitor the status of my husband's donated kidney (hopefully it's not kidney rejection) but this procedure will proceed once he transferred to a service (charity) account to lessen the financial burden.

Despite our family giving some financial aid to Kuya Dennis, it is still not enough to cover the remaining balance in his hospital bill. Kuya Dennis used to work as a cook in Dubai but because of the pandemic crisis he lost his job and he was included in the group of OFW's who were sent back home to the Philippines. His bank savings was used up in the first hospitalization and in purchasing his maintenance medicine which is expensive. His wife is the only one who generates income for his family but now forced to take a leave to accompany him in the hospital, they also have two minor children who are still studying. He also has a daughter who is working but not living with them and also doing her best to help.

May the Lord God bless all of you who will help us in this difficult time.

On behalf of the whole Onglao family, we thank you in advance for any amount you would help.

Preparing for Kidney Biopsy

Update posted by MARICA ONGLAO at 04:52 am

As of today, according to Kuya Dennis's wife (Ate Jane) he underwent 3rd hemodialysis with blood transfusion to further reduce his creatinine levels. Kuya Dennis needs to have a stable condition before he can proceed to the Kidney biopsy procedure. For now, he was instructed to have another hemodialysis to. . . . .
