My friend is Venezuelan, and in need of help for her rescued animals. She has a registered animal charity back in Venezuela, De Patitas En La Calle (please contact us for legal information, this is very sensitive given the kind of government the country is under) and now cares for almost 40 dogs and cats she saved from the streets. These animals were abandoned because of the crisis and the difficulties Venezuelans go through in their daily lives. People are fleeing the country because of food shortages for both human and animals, long-lasting blackouts, no health aid, no circulating cash, lack of public transportation, amongst other issues, so they leave their pets on the streets to fend for themselves.

These abandoned animals usually get abused, contract diseases, fight between each other, get worms and fleas due to lack of care, sometimes they are poisoned or hit by cars. Sol heals them and takes care of them with the best medicine she can put her hands on, and spays them so the stray population won't grow even more. She also feeds most of the strays she fixes. According to food availability, she makes an effort to feed them as often as possible. But due to the country's rampant hyperinflation, and increasing costs (or shortages) of pet food, it has become a constant struggle to feed these poor babies daily and properly.

The former place where she guarded her rescues was evicted, and she now has a new place for the animals, but this house is in very bad conditions, the ceiling is falling and leaking, it has no running water, and the place in general is in awful condition. This, however, was the best deal she could get. We need raise money to improve the shelter conditions, so the animals can have a decent and safe place to live.

There are very few animal lovers left in Venezuela willing to do this kind of emotional and financial investment. Please keep in mind this is a country that has been falling apart for the last decade or so, and they are deprived of so many things we simply take for granted. Please consider contributing to animals and humans that struggle terribly on a daily basis, and still find strength in their hearts to keep on fighting.

Here are some news about what's going on in Venezuela right now:

If you don't feel comfortable donating money, we have a wishlist set up on Amazon with essential items that the animals need for their nutrition and care. It will be sent to a private courier in Miami and from there, shipped to Venezuela via maritime.

Contact us via e-mail for details on how to access these lists and how the shipment will be managed.

In the name of all suffering Venezuelan animals, thank you for helping out!!!
