Hi Everyone,

My name is Elmie. I am working as an engineer and has been living in Singapore for over 11 years. I started this page for Baby Đặng Ngọc Diệp after speaking with the family who is from Vietnam and seeing the plight of Baby Diep. I have a small daughter who is around the same age as Baby Diep, that's why I feel so sad for her and decided to help her family in this difficult time.

Actually, Baby Diep was born a healthy baby in December 2014. However in the beginning of December 2016, when Baby Diep just turned 2-years-old she started having vision problems and was taken to the doctor. Unfortunately, the doctors shared that she had tumor and in order to prevent the tumor from spreading to other organs of her body, she should undergo a surgery to remove her right eye ball.

Two days before celebrating her second birthday, the family was dealt an unfortunate blow as Baby Diep underwent a surgery in which her right eyeball was removed on 13th December 2016.

The family went to various hospitals in Vietnam to seek for treatment but the family was repeatedly told that the chances were pretty low that they could save Baby Diep's left eye. In the hope of saving their daughter's last eye, her parents borrowed around SGD12.5K from friends and family members so that they could come to Singapore to seek a better treatment for their daughter.

They found hope in Singapore, thanks to the healthcare advancements as they were told that with 6 chemotherapy treatments, the hospital may be able to cure Diep's cancer. However, sadly the total cost of the treatment is estimated to be SGD 100K which is beyond the means of the family so they are hoping that people would be able to provide them some financial support in this difficult time.

So far the family has already spent around SGD 23K on the treatment of Baby Diep by taking loans from family and friends and now they are struggling to raise more money for subsequent chemo treatments. They really do not want to give up and are doing their best to help their poor daughter in her fight to save her last eye and her life.

Due to the side effects of the chemotherapy treatment, Baby Diep has lost a lot of hair. It is very heart breaking for us to see how she is suffering from all the treatment and yet the family is still unsure if they'd be able to continue pursuing the treatment to save Baby Diep's vision & her life.

If you cannot support financially, please help to share this campaign so that others might be able to help them.
