Help Cynthia Estrada and her children

Cynthia is dealing with the unthinkable. As a foreign domestic worker in Singapore she already has a hard life working long hours to send money home to pay for children’s education costs and to support her broader family in the Philippines. But in the past four months, Cynthia who is a caring, honest, hardworking mother of three children has lost both her husband and a daughter who died of septis in October at only 13 years of age.

Cynthia worked with our family a number of years ago and I was so impressed by her kind heart, honesty and commitment to provide for her family.

I have set up this GoFunding page with the hope that she can grieve for the loss of her daughter and her husband without the fear of extreme additional financial burden.

Some of you may know Cynthia and others may not.

I’m asking for support for her even if it is only a small amount to help Cynthia at this extremely sad time to help with the financial needs for her other two children and to show her that she is not alone and that there is a broader community there and we are here to help and support her anyway we can.

Whilst no amount of money can make the unbearable loss of a child, any contribution you can afford to make will help. In Cynthia’s own words “I just have to think about my 2 kids who gave me strength to live.I need to stay here and work ma'am in order to support them.”

Most of us are so blessed to live a comfortable life where even the worst thing a parent can experience would not bankrupt us.
