Help Cris and Finn Pay Their Medical Bills

On February 24th, Maricris gave birth to a beautiful, healthy boy named Finn.

Everybody was so excited to meet Finn and welcome him into the world. Manila is not an easy place to live for a local, we knew there would be some financial challenges, but we all felt positive for Finn's future.

Finn Gets Sick

Then in March 2019, Cris had to face every parent's worse nightmare. Finn started running a very high fever, and it was clear that everything was not ok.

Finn had meningitis, a terrifying disease that can lead to amputation, brain damage, and death. Finn was in hospital for about a month, and Cris stayed by his side every day. She was exhausted from lack of sleep and watching her baby go through procedure after procedure.

Finn is a fighter, and he got better. However, we now had another problem. Cris doesn't have insurance, and this means that Finn's healthcare was not going to be cheap. There was already a large medical bill, and every day it got higher and higher.

The First Fundraiser

We did our best to raise the money for Finn's expenses. So many generous people donated, and we even threw a party in Taipei to help bring in donations.

So many wonderful people were ready to help, and we managed to get enough to pay a small chunk of the bill. However, a lot of debt remained. Since March, the hospital has been charging interest, pushing the cost even higher.

What Happened Next

With Finn recovering, Cris and her family did their best to make ends meet. Cris took on a job, but the cost of childcare was too much to continue. She is an amazing mother to Finn, but the medical expenses are so high, and she can't find a way to pay them.

Finn is Sick Again

At the end of October, Finn started to get sick again. Cris took him to another hospital, where he tested positive for Dengue fever. Finn has already proved that he's a fighter, and we're sure he's going to be ok. But the hospital costs money, and now there is another medical bill to add to the first.

Right now, Finn is still in the hospital, and his second bill is climbing. Add to the first bill and the interest on that bill, and this family has a massive debt to pay.

What we're looking for

Please give what you can to support Cris and Finn in paying off the medical bill. If we can get this bill paid, it takes a massive weight off the shoulders of the family, and Finn can live a bright future free of debt.

If we raise any extra, it will go to Cris and Finn to help them with the cost of everyday life in Philipines.
