I am a final year modern language student at university.
I am passionate about languages and want to show that learning a new language is fun!
So, I had an idea.
I’ve been thinking about building a website for language students for a while now. In my spare time I have been creating content, writing articles on exchange programmes, collecting material for grammar and vocabulary, and recording listening and pronunciation audios in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. And I want to share it all with you!
I started an Instagram page "GrinGo Languages", where, for
now, I’m sharing only Portuguese and English language learning tips and
planning to add Spanish and French shortly.
There are a lot of costs involved in setting up and
maintaining a website. Even though, there are several sites that offer to
create a website for free, there are a lot of additional fees that are hidden
and all the features are quite expensive.
To set up a small first website total cost is from £400 to
£770 and this does not include its maintenance which has a lot of ongoing
monthly costs like hosting, debugging / troubleshooting, adding new features /
I receive a student loan and have a part time job but still I can barely cope with the cost of living at university. It’s been to the point when heating had to be switch off in order to lower costs of bills.
That’s why I need your help. I hope you liked my idea of creating a website and be willing to chip in.
Thank you very much!
MORE DETAILS ON THE CONTENT OF WEBSITE:
We all love spending our summer holiday whether it be in Spain, Portugal or Mexico, wouldn’t it be nice to understand menus in the local restaurants, directions, chat with local people and getting to know more about their culture?
Knowing a foreign language boosts your confidence and opens the door to more opportunities. Due to globalization and growing markets, companies are constantly expanding overseas and dealing with clients from all over the world. So, knowing an extra language will always increase your employability.
On my website, I will be concentrating on English as foreign language, Portuguese, Spanish and French providing revision tips and learning materials for these proficiency tests:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
CAPLE (Centre for Evaluation of Portuguese Language)
CELPE-Bras (Brazilian Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners)
DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera)
TELC (The European Language Certificates)
