Campaign Story
In Bangladesh, current COVID positive cases are 35000 and rising. There has already been 500 deaths. Some of deaths are due to reasons like, lack of hospital beds in the icu, insufficient respiratory ventilators and physicians unable to treat due to lack of sufficient protective equipments. So far 554 doctors have been diagnosed positive with corona virus while only 20 survived. On of the major hotspot is Chittagong City. Till date, total number of cases rising in Chittagong is about 150 to 200 new cases every day and total number of patients who died in Chittagong alone is 53 people. Chittagong is currently running with only 300 icu beds in dedicated COVID hospitals. Chittagong, with a total population of 2.5 million people, and an ever increasing number of positive cases, it is running on dangerous grounds. More and more people are dying each day in this heavily dense city. A large number of people in Bangladesh are living under poverty. Many people under the poverty line in Bangladesh depend on a daily income, and due to the lockdown, they are going hungry for days.A large number of people in Bangladesh are living under poverty. Many people under the poverty line in Bangladesh depend on a daily income, and due to the lockdown, they are going hungry for days. Given the only way currently is prevention and supportive care for serious patients, the aim is to rise funds and regularly send to specific hospitals in Chittagong to help them support more and more patients. Some of the funding will also be used to distribute food to people living under poverty who have been going hungry due to lack of work in this lockdown. Soaps and sanitizing equipments will be provided to rural areas to help prevent the spread in these densely populated areas. Death due to lack of instruments, which could have been easily prevented if there was a little more funding is truly heartbreaking and unfortunate.. Kindly come forward to contribute your part in saving people from this unfortunate death.
