I has been the sunshine of Fez in Morocco, welcoming travelers from the US, Europe, and rest of the world to the country for years with a smile. I has been a leading figure within the Fez couchsurfing community, freely sharing my homeland with others. Iam trapped in the most unfair of circumstances.
For those who don’t know, Morocco prohibits locals from “guiding” foreigners without asking for a fee and paying for permits to be a tour guide. This makes it hard for Moroccans who want to meet foreigners and make friends with them. I was betrayed by one of these very friends and is now in a perilous situation. When out with some American visitors (and couchsurfers), I was stopped by the police who demanded payment as iam a “unregistered tourguide.” Most unfairly, the American couple did not explain the situation to the police before they left the country, which has led to a sentencing by a judge .
I have been forced to change my house but no way to rent a new Appartement which currently stand at 500$ . iam unable to pay soon or i will be outside; sentence for the crime of wanting to make friends and be hospitable.
. Anything will help me and i can be reached on my facebook ( https://bit.ly/2Prozrh) for messages of support. I ask of you, please help me and show me that there is still love and kindness in the world. i
