Campaign Story
Christopher John (CJ for short) is my son.
He is also the bravest 19-year-old that I know. Like many teenagers, he too had big dreams, his is to design space ships to travel the stars. These dreams are now on hold as CJ enters the new year fighting for his life.
CJ was diagnosed with Stage 4 Burkitt's Lymphoma in October 2019. This is an aggressive form of blood cancer that formed a tumor in his abdomen and his chest. He under went chemotherapy and has spent 90 days in hospital since, including 20 days in critical care. CJ has had more than his fair share of pain, needles, drips, nausea, loss of appetite and hair loss.
Shortly after Christmas, we were greeted with grave news. The chemotherapy wasn’t working and the tumors continue to grow. Doctors are saying that a Stem Cell Transplant is his best hope. To begin his treatment, I am seeking to raise $20,000. All the proceeds will go towards saving CJ.
Update 9-Mar-2020: We are increasing the target to $50,000 as his hospital bill is now almost $100,000. Net of subsidies, we estimate it to be around $50,000. Thanks you all for your continues support to CJ!
On my birthday last January, I shaved my head for CJ. My birthday wish is that CJ will be well again to pursue his dreams. I will shave my head a hundred times over if it will make this wish of mine true!
Without treatment, CJ's doctors give him only a few weeks to a few months to live. Despite knowing this CJ hasn’t lost his smile and above all, he hasn’t lost his will to fight on.
Join CJ in his fight with cancer!
Please see our first update as I try to answer certain questions that come to your mind.

CJ needs new medication, the current treatment (Besponsa) isn't effective
Update posted by John Anthony Tallas at 09:42 amCJ’s doctor informed me that his current treatment (Besponsa) did not work to control his cancer, the tumor continued to grow. Today is a NEW day for CJ
Update posted by John Anthony Tallas at 06:14 amI won’t lie. The past weekend was tough. CJ had a high fever and suffering from nausea thus he could not eat. One step closer!
Update posted by John Anthony Tallas at 03:55 amToday is an interesting day.I had recently been told that my youngest daughter, Blessie, is not a match for CJ. Doctors have told me that the best chance of a match is with siblings but that isn't happening for us.Thankfully, that is not the end of the story. The cancer
