Cirene is just 27. A first-time mom, a loving daughter, a hardworking government employee. She was diagnosed with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP).

On November 23, 2019, 36-weeks pregnant Cirene, was immediately admitted to Dr. Jesus Delgado Hospital in QC due to the severe drop in hemoglobin and platelets count. She has undergone blood transfusion and her OB decided to perform Emergency Cesarean Section (ECS) because the heart rate of the baby was also dropping. The baby was safely delivered on November 24, 2019 but has to stay in NICU. Baby Boy Seve has to be separated from his mom to allow her full recovery. Initial tests suggest that new-mom Cirene might have HELLP Syndrome or Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP).

As of writing, it was confirmed that she has the rare-blood disorder called Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP).

In TTP, blood clots form in small blood vessels throughout the body.
The clots can limit or block the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the body's organs, such as the brain, kidneys, and heart. As a result, serious health problems can develop. (https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health-topics/thrombotic-thrombocytopenic-purpura)

The new mom, unable to breastfeed her little one and have not even got a glimpse of him, is fighting for her life. In order to survive, she must undergo PLASMA EXCHANGE. This morning she was transferred to St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City for her to undergo the necessary treatments. Each session of Plasma Exchange in the hospital costs 200,000 pesos or roughly around 4,000 USD. She has suffered stroke and will undergo the first session today. No one knows how many sessions she will require for full recovery. The costs has already piled up and will just continue to skyrocket.

To add up, while she is undergoing treatment at St. Luke's, the baby is stii at NICU of Dr. Jesus Delgado Hospital in QC. Her friends are also seeking breastmilk donations for faster recovery of baby.

Mommy Cirene and Baby needs our help.

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19)"

I always believe that God will provide. And it will be through you - through your help. Any amount will go a long way and no donation is too small.

Thank you for your willingness to help. God bless you!

Update: As of November 29, 2019

She has undergone 1st session of plasmapherisis. Still waiting and praying that she'll soon open her eyes. The doctors said she is in very critical condition with 50% chance of survival. A narrowing of blood vessels to the brain was observed. Also as of 12 midnight, her hemoglobin dropped from 7 to 4.6 while plateles increased from 10000 to 13000. Pls continue praying for her.

Update: As of November 30, 2019

Her hemoglobin and platelet counts have improved - from 4.6 to 7.2 and 13000 to 76000, repectively. The baby is well and just needs to continue his antibiotics till the last dose on Sunday. Mommy's condition has improved as she has started responding to his husband's voice. She's starting to slowly open her eyes and move her fingers. Praise God! Pls continue praying for her and baby.

Update: As of December 1, 2019 7:15 AM

Her hemoglobin dropped to 6.4 g/dl, way below the normal. Her platelets also dropped to 39000 which is also below the normal reference interval. Although mommy Ci is now fully conscious and can respond through a minimal movements like nod and wave. Her hands were restrained most of the time due to attempts of removing her mechanical ventilator.

Update: As of December 1, 2019 7:03 PM

Hemoglobin and platelet count has increased to 7.4 g/dl and 45000 /mm3. Ci can now talk, although difficult due to the still attached ventilator for her breathing support. She uses pen and paper to communicate. Praise God for the improvement! We also had a chance to talk with one of her doctors - the respiratory specialist. He said that they will slowly reduce the work of the mechanical ventilator. By the time that she can breathe on her own, it will be removed. Hopefully tomorrow!

Update: As of Deccember 2, 2019

Her husband sent me photos of the change in the plasma that was exchanged from her blood. See photos below. God is amazing! Please continue praying. Today, she just finished her 4th session of plasmapherisis.

Plasma removed from the 1st session of Plasmapherisis.

Mommy Ci is fighting. She writes to communicate. She can now sms with help of husband.

The current hospital bill has reached 1.4 Million pesos excluding professional fees. The hospital is already requiring the family to settle 75%. We're afraid that treatment will stop unless we don't reach the amount. So we're hoping you could help.

Update: As of Dec 4, 2019

We were able to raise money enough to settle 50% of yesterday's bill. However, continuous treatment also means increase inhospital bills. We are appealing to your kind hearts to help Mommy Ci and her family.

Update: As of Dec 5, 2019

CBC shows improvement in her platelet count as well as hemoglobin. God is listening! Praise God!

Update: As of Dec 6, 2019

Further improvement as shown in her latest CBC. Praise God!

The family has been asked again to sete the current running bill until December 7, 2019 only. With the help of Jerry, the family have been granted with their request of at least settling 30% of the amount.

Baby Zebedee (Mommy's newborn) is doing wrll at home. Praise God for providing as breastmilk through donors.

I have to temporarily pause the collection of breastmilk due to storage space.

Update: As of Dec 7, 2019

The mechanical ventilator has already been removed. We all thought she's doing good. Doctors have also said that she might be transferred to regular room soon. However, Cirene has once again showed unusual signs. She can't recognise people around her and uneasy. The hospital staff has to even restrain her.

CT Scan was once again carried out. Doctors said that there's a blockage in the vein to her brain that might have cause her episodes. Also, she almost had another stroke.

Update: As of Dec 8, 2019

Doctors advised the family to minimize visitors to allow her to rest well too. She has still undergone another session of plasmapheris. Awaiting for the results of CBC.

As you all know, the bill has reached more or less 3M as of today, Dec 9, 2019. May this story reach your heart this Christmas and let you choose to be a blessing to Cirene, her family especialky for baby Zebedee.

Aside from this site, we are also raising funds through selling Tshirts below:

Thank you for the good people who donated and helped us raise this amount (P 232,200). May God bless you more!

Super grateful to also have Engr. Rose Ann Mingua and Engr. Charles Dy with us. Thanks to them for initiating the fund raising (T shirt for a Cause). It was really a great help! God bless you more!

Thank you for the backers, the personal donors, fund raisers etc. As of now, the family was able to settle 1.3 Million Pesos.

However,it isn't enough yet to cover the bills that has reached 4.7Million Pesos and still growing.

Her family has appealed to various government agencies for financial support, but most have been rejected largely because she was admitted at a private hospital.

For the information of everyone, when Cirene was under critical condition, still at the Delgado Hospital, the family considered all the options and contacted different hospitals - public and private. It was only St. Luke's at that time that has an available room to acvommodate her. Also, there are few hospitals that has facilities to carry out her treatment, the plasmapherisis.

The family has already talked to her doctors and contacted various hospitals for possible transfer. However, the earliest available date that a public hospital can accommodate her is on December 23, 2019. For her to be able to transfer to another hospital, the family needs to settle the amount due in St. Luke's.

We are appealing to your good hearts. May you be able to provide for the family in need. A 4-week old baby is longing for her mom. May we give him, his mommy Ci and the rest of tbe family the best Christmas gift this season.

Update as of December 17, 2019:

Praise God! Platelet count has reached normal and finally no plasmapherisis today. God is good!

Pls continue praying for Cirene.

Also pls support this campaign by backing or just even sharing this. Thank you! God bless you all!
