Hi everyone, I am Chi and I am from the Philippines. Please let me share you my story.
I graduated in college last 2017 and got my first job last September 2017. I was described by many for being smart, honest, talented and every positive characteristics, that's why I had a lot of academic awards and I never failed to have an excellent academic grades even in extracurricular activities way back when I was still studying. Unfortunately, I was dismissed from work last February 2018 due to the "dishonesty" that was charged on me from my first work.
It all started when I worked as an Executive Assistant and part of my job is to handle all cash advances that will be used for my boss' business expenses every half of the month. The expenses reports should come with attachments of all receipts that shows all of the expenses made within those advances, and return remaining cash if any. Last month, I have lost receipts amounting Php 62,565.40 (around $1200) and I could not request the stores and gasoline stations for the second copy of the receipt since they were too far away for me to get through and some are charging me too expensive fees to get the copies of those receipts (needs to take plane to get through there and I didn't have a chance to take my leave off plus I don't have money). What I did was to tamper 3-5 receipts to match the missing amount of receipts. And which the finance section of our company discovered irregularities.
I am not very wealthy to get that huge amount of money to return since I never have intentions to steal money from the company because I doing my job well. I studied since I got scholarships to support my studies. And it was just I never know what ideas should I do anymore to cover up those missing receipts, so that's what I did. They concluded that I have been charged with the amount that I never got and not even requested the stores and stations to get a copy of receipts for the evidence nor verify.
Aside from $1200, I was also fined with $800 for the damages I did, which was truly devastating for me because I really never know where to get that amount of money, I haven't applied for any jobs yet since I do not have money for my expenses while looking for a job. My other family and relatives doesn't have money to lend me since they have a lot of expenses also, and my father never helped me also. My mother was helping me but we are still in debt too. That's why we are financially unstable as of the moment.
Until I have received the letter from the company,I do not know how to come up with $2000 amount of money that I should pay them. I lose hope also the fact that there might be no companies that will accept me despite the fact that I was academically good but there will be a damage with my first employment record from the past company that I worked with. I have applied online and walk-ins from nearby companies but still no calls yet for interviews.
I almost gave up and lose hope into which I thought of committing suicide and I was very depressed to what I am facing right now, until a friend of mine referred me to do crowdfunding and I searched for the idea of it. I was hoping that some people will help me with what I am facing through. I was really scared to not meet the amount needed to return to them.
I gave a try to make a campaign for myself, because I am hoping that there are good samaritan here. I was surprised that there was a campaign to eat pizza and with that, my confidence was boosted and trying to be positive and never give up.
In overall, I was badly needing $2000 to pay for the accountability and liabilities that I needed to pay from the company I worked with. They gave me five days to settle it or else they will raise it in the court to file a case against me. But then I gave them a proposal letter to give me more time to earn the money and until now, I was still waiting for the management's response.
For those who have read my story, I was hoping that you could understand and could help me raise $2000 in a week or two because you will be a part of my life changing as I wanted to rebuild my life, self and to learn all of my lessons from the bad experience that I had. And I would like to thank you for helping me.
I will be giving updates when I have heard about the management's response regarding the proposal letter I have sent to them last Monday. Thank you.
