Campaign Story
Charlie is a large (130 pound) and lively 2.5 year old German Shepherd. There is nothing he loves more than playing fetch and cuddling. On May 21, 2016 he was injured while playing fetch. After hours in an emergency clinic, Charlie was diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the right knee and hereditary hip dysplasia. Charlie is currently unable to stand or walk without support. This big, furry, bundle of joy is in pain physically and mentally. The wonderful specialists at Veterinary Surgery of Birmingham can perform a surgery to repair the acute knee injury but it is very expensive. In addition, Charlie will need a wheelchair for rehabilitation and possibly further surgeries in the future. With your help and support, Charlie can have a long and playful life!
