A person cannot change the world. But you can change the world for a person. Imagine being able to contribute and being able to see EXACTLY where and to whom your giving goes to.

Shines Children's Foundation (SCF) is a non-profit organization working for orphans and vulnerable children in Masindi, Uganda.

Most of us have grown up where clean water, clothes, shoes and schooling is something we take for granted. But that´s not the case here. These children want YOUR help to have a better and easier everyday life, even an opportunity to build a future. Even a small gift can make a big difference!

You will be able to follow the children's everyday lives, school and projects that are underway and see where the money goes. Further down the page you can see some of the projects that are underway and the ones we want to start. You will be able to follow developments and get updates in a way you prefer. It can be Instagram, WhatsApp, mail and also here on the web page.

Here are some of the projects:

1. Drilling a water well at the school itself - NOK 15,987 = 1753USD

There is no water source where we can get clean drinking water for the children. This bore will provide water which will be used for drinking, washing hands and cooking. This water source will be used by the school going children aswell as over 500 community members who stay close to the school.

2. '' SKILLING CENTER '- 41934NOK = 4598USD

90% of the children in the school are orphans but they have a guradian. Unfortunately, many of their guardians do not have a job.

SCF wants to offer these, and other young people who have dropped out of school early and have no practical education, training such as: craft making, carpentry, mechanics, plumber, hairdresser and other things. A charity organization donated lots of tools and machines earlier this year to start the training, but we have no space to conduct the training from. Land is there but we need to construct a Skill Center on the school´s property where youths get to learn skills and start earning a living to provide for themselves and their families.

3. COMPLETE THE SCHOOL - Uncertain price; About 83,000 NOK

The school was completed in 2018 and there are currently 4 classrooms used by children aged 3 to 10 years. In 2 of these classrooms the children have no windows and doors, and we would like to have the walls finished and painted. Take a look at the first photo above of one of these classrooms.

We are also building one additional building with 4 more classrooms. Here a married couple from England have invested, but we still need some money to get it done. See Figure 2.

4. GENERAL EXPENDITURE NOK 14,930 = 1637USD

Although it is a 'non-profit' organization, it costs money to run the school.

Some of the expenses:

1. Cover expenses per child.

This includes school fees, medicine, food, school supplies and school uniform. Costs about $ 100 per child

2. Cover the food for the kids. Everyone gets 2 meals a day, breakfast and lunch. Costs about 543NOK = 59USD to give all children this.

3. Salaries for teachers, cleaning workers, guard and chef, 9 people: NOK 5000 = 548USD

4. Administration expenses and salary: 5900NOK = 646USD
