We are knocking on your kind hearts to help us raise funds for my sister, Carla Joana L. Balacuit for her upcoming treatments.

Last year, November 10, 2020 we lost our mom from colon cancer and our family has yet to recover from financial catastrophe that cancer has caused us. Early last month, February this year, my sister had experienced vomiting, sudden loss of weight and malaise. We thought it was her grieving phase since she and my mom were so close that people would call them twins. However, after we loss our mother from colon cancer, we do not want to be negligent in our family member’s health anymore and decided that Carla should go to the hospital to make sure everything was okay. We took her to Cagayan de Oro Medical center in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines where she undergone an endoscopy where a tumors were seen. My sister is still in shock and trying to absorb this information. She is 21 and still doing her best in pursuing her dreams of becoming a dentist so she can join and organize dental missions to help unfortunate and less privileged people who cannot afford to go to dental clinics to have their teeth done. She is now on her third year in university.

She is as sweet as her nickname: Sugar. My sister has so much potential in her. She is very passionate on what she does and wants to pursue in life. She is young and still wants to experience wonderful things this world has to offer. If you could share some of your spare change or cash, any amount would be a great help in fighting my sister’s illness. As mentioned earlier, we are still waiting for her biopsy results and we will proceed to whatever treatment is needed to remove her tumor. We do not know how much it would cost us to cover all her medical expenses, and we will update the page as soon as we know.
