Campaign Story
My son has Autism and is only 5 years old and we are still in the process with his therapy and helping him manage meltdowns. The video I posted was to share what he loves to do, eat and swim. He is a very loving boy and we care for him more than the world.
We found out this Monday, June 19 that he has a Hernia and he needs to undergo surgery as soon as possible to avoid complications that may arise. We are limited financially with him getting the immediate attention and struggling to find a suitable Doctor that can handle his case since he is a child with autism.The Urologist has also noted that he has undescended testes thus he needs to have a CT scan to determine the location prior to surgery.
We do have an HMO but the funds will not be sufficient to cater to his special needs and the tests. Aside from a Uro-Surgeon, he needs an attending Pediatrician and an Anesthesiologist that can specifically handle a child with Autism.
We really want to get him help as quickly as he can so that we can focus on his therapy sessions since his meltdowns and his being over active worsens his hernia.
Please, please help our little boy to recover so that he can move on with focusing on managing his disability.
He is a wonderful bright boy and we would really want him to enjoy his life to the fullest.

CT Scan Day 07/03

By 6am, we were all out of the house, took a GrabCar and were on our way to Delos Santos Medical Center. We got there by 6:32AM - too early but it was still. . . . .
Pediatrician Clearance for his CT Scan Achieved
Update posted by Marie Charmaine San Luis at 10:02 amCalel had another check-up today and this was to get a clearance from the pedia to be sedated for his CT Scan procedure. We now have the clearance and a date for his CT scan has been set this Monday morning. We are hoping to receive the results right away

We already have a Pedia at De Los Santos Hospital where he will get his CT scan who was referred to by his Godmother. Luckily enough, the Pedia is also affiliated. . . . .

Update posted by Marie Charmaine San Luis at 05:30 am06/28 UPDATEIt was a better experience with the surgeon today and Calel cooperated 40% of the time during the consultation.The journey was far, it was raining and I have no sleep but anything for Calel to take that journey to recovery.We learned something about him - he gets irritated by. . . . .

He has shown more irritability than ever and 80% percent of the time we need to keep a keen eye on him to make sure he does not jump around too much or if he has. . . . .

Update posted by Marie Charmaine San Luis at 05:44 amWe had a visit to a Pedia Surgeon last night and we were told that Calel would need 4 surgeries due to undescended testicles and to repair the hernia. He quoted us at roughly 150K or may be higher depending after the surgery. We are still looking for other doctors
CT Scan Inquiry
Update posted by Marie Charmaine San Luis at 02:09 amChecking with 2 different hospitals, to get the CT scan we will need to get sign off from a pedia and the urologist. The cost is ranging from Php12,000 to Php17,000++ depending on the type of CT scan (Plain or contrast) plus this includes the fee for sedation.

Update posted by Marie Charmaine San Luis at 10:20 amThe ultrasound was unsuccessful since Calel did not want to cooperate, even if he was being held down. Sonologist has advised that he undergo a CT scan while sedated.
