Caelen was 10-month old when clinically diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 on 13 January 2014.
SMA manifests over a range of serverity with Type I being the most servere affecting infants in their early months of life. Type 1 children do not meet milestones for sitting/crawling. They deteriorate over time, losing muscles strength required for feeding, breathing & mobility. Eventually require feeding tube and intensive respiratory support.
Caelen requires expensive therapies, medical care and equipment to stay alive.
Please help us sustain and improve his quality of life.
