Arapahoe County Jail

Concerning Inmate Corwin J. Raven

This is one of the many complaints against Arapahoe County Jail which is also currently under investigation. Not to mention the public humiliation of the arrest of Arapahoe County Sheriff Patrick Sullivan last summer 2012, for the solicitation of homosexual sex to acquire meth.

The once “honored” sheriff that was serving the Arapahoe community SINCE 1984 under the laws that are to be upheld regardless of state and origin. In Colorado, possession of 2 grams of meth or less is a Class 6 FELONY plus 6 months to 3 years in PRISON. Patrick Sullivan was in possession of 0.7 grams, a Class 6 FELONY. The law upon prostitution in Colorado is a Class C misdemeanor plus 6 months in jail and a $750 fine. These are common laws used and clearly stated in all law enforcement books that are to be upheld in all courts in Colorado. Patrick Sullivan pleaded GUILTY to these charges.

What was Patrick Sullivan’s sentence?

Misdemeanors (No Felonies given) $1,100, 30 days jail time, and 2 years probation.

Probabtion broken for alcohol.

Where is he NOW?

Still at Home.

Don’t forget folks… This was less than a year ago.

As you know Arapahoe County Jail is under investigation for abusing inmates.

This is another story about a victim stuck inside Arapahoe County under false charges.

A young 23 year old, Corwin J. Raven, a former Rangeview High School graduate. Known by his peers as Lanaé.

The story below results in a $50,000 bond.

This 23 yr. old adolescent is in jail for false charges brought on by the Aurora police. This conspiracy began at his mother’s house. There was Corwin Lanaé (the victim), his sister and mother there. There was a family issue that conspired and Corwin Lanaé was upset and threw a hammer at a wall. Not near the mom and sister at all. It was an act of frustration in the garage. The neighbors that witnessed the act called the police. When the police arrived the mother and police agreed to take Corwin Lenaé, the transgendered woman, to jail for a few hours to cool down. She (the transgendered woman) was arrested and taken by the police. There were no charges pressed by his family as they saw the incident insignificant. Candace, the mother, was prepared to go retrieve her from jail shortly later. She called to inform the police office that she was coming to release Corwin Lanaé and thanked them for holding her for that short time.

IN THAT PHONE CALL SHE WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST $50,000.00 TO RETRIEVE HER.

Why?

WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT AGREEMENT?

The police and the mother had a verbal agreement to hold her for a short while. Not even overnight. No charges and no bail, just to calm down.

FALSE CHARGES GIVEN TO CORWIN LENAÉ.

The $50,000.00 was from charges against the unarmed handcuffed (arms and feet) C. Lanaé, 140lb. transgender, for fighting THREE GROWN MEN OFFICERS: Jeffrey Marsich, Douglas Pearson, and Robert Wesner. Footage and supposed weapons of the assault against the lives of the three officers is UNFOUND and UNREVIELED. Corwin Lenaé suffered multiple bruises, a large forehead gash, taunting about sexuality, and inappropriate touching on her BREASTS during this assault on her/him that was framed as an “ASSAULT AGAINST THE OFFICERS” (all of these injuries on C. Lanaé are documented). The officers that were supposedly ENDANGERED by the handcuffed Corwin Lenaé, charged C. Lanaé with assaulting them, the police men had no injuries on them, no bruises or gashes. However, C. Lanaé was denied hospital attention for her forehead gash and multiple bruises.

A $50,000 bond for an ILLOGICAL “crime”

C. Lanaé has been in Arapahoe county jail for SIX MONTHS for a “criminal act” that happened during a family matter with a hammer.

Thanks to these FALSE CHARGES and $50,000 bond his release is unknown.

Reader, as bad as this situation is thus far. This is simply the beginning of the mistreatment against minorities with Arapahoe County Jail and officers.

After being sexually abused and beaten by deputy officers with a $50,000 bond placed on her. She has been locked down in the MEN’S maximum security jail for the last SIX months.

Throughout her jail time the officers are ALLOWING different inmates in and out of her cell to steal things from C. Lanaé, officers are turning their heads to any acts these men might forcefully initiate to C. Lanaé. What these men have forcefully stolen is C. Lanaé’s food. She thus far has lost 25lbs. or more from her inability to eat. Any items purchased from the money her family has sent: stamped envelopes, writing tablet, pen, lip balm, Dove soap, shampoo, deodorant, and washcloths, all have been stolen. Any abuses toward C. Lanaé are not met with proper medical treatment. Her front tooth was knocked out amongst other injuries and attempted murders against her by the men. Her tooth was supposedly CEMENTED in and other injuries ignored; however recent family visits prove otherwise.  Where is her tooth? It is unfound and unknown. Where are the guards protecting her in the male’s prison? She is a transgender, born as a boy and has been transforming into a woman for seven years with documented hormone supplements as proof previous to any arrest. Doctors have approved needed supplements for scheduled maintenance. Arapahoe jail has refused to supply her with supplements. This just proves improper medical treatment from Arapahoe Jail in cases for any injury placed on inmates or by inmates, such as a tooth. C. Lanaé is not the only victim. She is one of many with a story to share.

When she requests 23-hour lockdown isolation after incidents of mistreatment with the hope to be away from the abuse of the inmates and guards enabling it C. Lanaé’s request is sometimes obliged. However, in the 23-hour lockdown she receives insufficient nutrition from the guards after already starving from her food being stolen amongst the inmates, and the guards being aware and enabling that.

She has been starving for six months. Any food at all is a relief to her. Her survival is not long if she doesn’t get help. Her mentality is fragile as well. She has been tortured, sexually abused, starved, and with nowhere to turn. Stuck in jail with a $50,000 bond over framed charges due do what seems as racism against transgender.  Her future is on the line.
Her life is on the line. Her sanity is on the line. She was placed in there for false charges and unless something happens she will stay there indefinitely in a male’s prison and can very easily potentially die.

Her treatment in jail is so cruel, that other inmates that witness the mistreatment write letters to Corwin Lanaé’s family explaining the mistreatment. Inmates such as Anthony Epps (Inmate 120-2639), another that refers to him as Lanea, and another inmate named Marvin have all written letters to Candace.

The inmates that witness Corwin Lanaé’s treatment are worried enough for her to contact her family which creates concern inside the family that Corwin Lanaé is barely survivng for her life, if she doesn’t already feel it is hopeless.

EVERY SINGLE LETTER sent to her by her family has been returned to sender. She hasn’t received letters from her sisters (3), her mother, or her 80 year old grandmother that is in a very serious condition with a pace maker. The family can receive some letters from C. Lanaé but every letter the family sends gets returned to sender along with a “Mail Rejection Form” from the Office of the Sheriff. How decent are sheriffs that refuse letters to a mistreated girl that needs that’s letters at needed time most needed in her life for her whole being and hope?

Every attempt made by Corwin Lanaé’s family to complain about the mistreatment of her has been ignored by every office, agency, and officer.

My transgendered daughter is not the first mistreated inmate. Nor will she be the last. He is my son and she is my daughter and the oldest amongst my children. As I fight for her I fight for every person, male and female, that are or where ever mistreated by Arapahoe police. This is unjust and unconstitutional. They make exceptions for their own but not for the common people the police are meant to “serve and protect”. This is a situation among people of all colors and sexualities being mistreated in Aurora. This knowledge needs to be known. These injustices need to be stopped. If you have a story I suggest you stand up and let me or someone know. As, Corwin’s situation is unfair, I know she is not alone. May God help us all in this battle for justice.
