Help Building a College for the Disadvantage

Cape Learning Foundation is a registered Non - Profitable Organisation, which main objectives are to educate, uplift and empower the disadvantage communities in Mitchells Plain, Western Cape, South Africa.

While some parts of the site are under construction, it will still give you a clear insight of our vision and future projects. 

While we are always in need of funds to develop our activities in Mitchells Plain, we wish to raise an initial amount of R 3 000 000.00 ($300 000) in order to establish a fully fletch college in Mitchells Plain in January 2015 with the aim to find safe and hygienic premises to open our first college for the disadvantage who are not in the position to access formal education for financial and/or personal reasons, and therefore, are not able to take advantage of the tremendous socio-economic possibilities that education provides. Within the same premises, we wish to open a support centre for Mitchells Plain which will offer services such as basic education, vocational training, technical, administrative and developmental support to the creation of small local businesses, microcredits, as well as workshops on gender issues, basic health awareness and the importance of gender equality within households, communities and society as a whole. 

Education and Socio-Economic Advancement are basic human rights in our country; however, in Mitchells Plain, hundreds of students are still denied these rights, and/or do not have the means to achieve it. Gender disparities are widespread issues and have devastating impacts on these people’s life: education and further empowerment can address these concerns.

This initial amount will cover all expenses, like college training rooms, accreditation, study material and training equipment.
