After living and working in Thailand for over 5 years, while volunteering, donating and educating for the welfare of street dogs and cats, I came to realize what is missing.

With minimimal dog and cat shelters and organizations, working to reduce the ever growing dog population, it is almost impossible to see an end to Thailands issue. As I spend 2-3+ days per week volunteering at a local dog shelter, where I still remain now, the dogs just keep arriving, puppies are being born everyday and the organisation is not able, due to manpower and finance, to neuter enough dogs to even stop the repopulation in 1 small town, let alone make a difference throughout Thailand. This is where I realized I can help make a big difference. Whats missing is an ongoing neutering campaign, targeting areas all over Thailand, in the most unreachable and local areas. With a van we have the flexibility to travel to any destination and perform medical care and neutering immediately onsite.

When we are able to get the VetVan up and running, we will firstly start by caring for sick street dogs and neutering female dogs, as they are the ones able to carry life and when in season causes an outbreak of aggression in dogs, changing personalities, causing fights and also causing dogs to run across roads and endanger themselves and the public due to the attraction and hormones she lets off.

The costs of a VetVan requires the cover of:

Start up = 800,000 THB (Approx)

- The vehicle (Approx 500,000 THB - 1 off payment)

- Insurance & Tax (Approx 20,000 THB - per year)

- A functional clinic within, rear extendable operating table and awning (Approx 200,000 THB - 1 off payment)

- Equipment (Approx 50,000 THB - 1 off payment)

- Crates and compartments to carry and care for cats and dogs of all sizes (Approx 30,000 THB - 1 off payment)

Reoccurring costs = 141,000 THB + Additional - per month - 50 dogs

= 216,000 THB + Additional - per month - 100 dogs

The more donations, volunteers and support we get, the more dogs and cats we can reach out to and help change their lives.

- Veterinary doctors salaries (1 x 30,000 THB - per month)

- Veterinaryassistants/Animal handlers/drivers salaries (3 x 12,000 = 36,000 THB - per month)

- Vaccines, Deworming, Neutering, Treatment (Approx 1,500 THB - per dog / 75,000 THB - 50 dogs per month / 150,000 THB - 100 dogs per month)

Additional fees = Dependant on cases

- Medicine (Dependant on case)

- Food & Supplements (Dependant on animals in care

This plan does not end there. After the success of 1 VetVan and the ability to financial become sustainable, will come the opening of more as well as a cat and dog foster home and hopefully then a rescue shelter for those in need of a home and further care.

🐾 จากที่ได้อาศัยและทำงาน เป็นผู้จัดการในประเทศไทยมากว่า 5 ปี ในขณะเดียวกันยังทำจิตอาสา บริจาค และให้ความรู้กับสังคมเกี่ยวกับ สุนัขและแมวจรจัด ฉันถึงพบว่ามีบางอย่างที่หายไป

ด้วยสถานสงเคราะห์สุนัขและแมวเล็กๆ และองค์กรเล็กๆ ช่วยกันทำงานเพื่อลดการเติบโตของจำนวนประชากรสุนัขและแมวจร มันแทบจะเป็นไปไม่ได้เลยที่จะเห็นจุดจบของปัญหานี้ในประเทศไทย

และจากที่ฉันใช้เวลา 2-3 ขึ้นไป ต่ออาทิตย์ในการเป็นจิตอาสาดูแลสถานสงเคราะห์สัตว์เล็กๆใกล้บ้านที่ฉันยังทำอยู่ทุกวันนี้ สุนัขตัวใหม่ถูกส่งมาเรื่อยๆ และลูกสุนัขเกิดขึ้นทุกๆวัน องค์กรเล็กๆ ไม่สามารถที่จะช่วยเหลือได้ทั้งหมด ไม่ว่าจะกำลังคน หรือเงิน เพื่อทำหมันสุนัขมากเพียงพอที่จะหยุดการเพิ่มขึ้นของสุนัขจรจัดแค่ในเพียงเมืองเล็กๆ และนี่เอง ทำให้ฉันค้นพบว่าฉันสามารถสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ยิ่งใหญ่ สิ่งที่ขาดไปคือแคมเปญต่อเนื่องสำหรับการช่วยทำหมัน และไปยังพื้นที่เป้าหมายทั่วทั้งประเทศไทย แม้กระทั่งพื้นที่ ที่ยากที่จะเข้าถึง หรือพื้นที่ห่างไกล และด้วยรถพยาบาบสัตว์เคลื่อนที่เราสามารถที่จะไปที่ไหนก็ได้ เพื่อรักษาและทำหมันให้สัตว์ ณ จุดนั้นได้ทันที

และเมื่อเราสามารถที่จะมีรถพยาบาลสัตว์เคลื่อนที่ไว้ใช้และดำเนินงาน เราจะเริ่มด้วยการ ดูแลสุนัขจรจัดที่ป่วยและทำหมันสุนัขจรจัดเพศหญิง เพราะสุนัขเหล่านี้จะตั้งท้อง และเมื่อถึงฤดูที่ทำให้สุนัขก้าวร้าว และเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมหรือทำให้เกิดการต่อสู้กันที่เป็นเหตุทำให้สุนัขวิ่งข้ามถนนหรืออาจทำให้เกิดอันตรายต่อตัวมันเองหรือแม้กระทั่งต่อสาธารณะ ที่มีสาเหตุจากการที่สุนัขเพศหญิงปล่อยฮอร์โมนออกมาทำให้ตัวผู้ติด

ความต้องการในด้านค่าใช้จ่ายของรถพยาบาลสัตว์เคลื่อนที่คลอบคลุมดังนี้ :

เริ่มต้นที่ 800,000 บาท (โดยประมาณ)

- รถตู้ ( ประมาณ 500,000 บาท – จ่ายครั้งเดียว )

- ประกันรถและภาษี ( โดยประมาณ 20,000 บาท ต่อปี)

- ส่วนประกอบเพิ่มเติมสำหรับการทำเป็นคลินิกเช่นต่อเติมส่วนหลัง, โต๊ะสำหรับการผ่าตัดและผ้าใบ ( ประมาณ 200,000 – จ่ายครั้งเดียว )

- เครื่องมือต่างๆ ( โดยประมาณ 50,000 จ่ายครั้งเดียว )

- กรงไม้หรือที่สำหรับเคลื่อนย้ายสุนัขและแมวจรจัดสำหรับทุกขนาด ( โดยประมาณ 30,000 จ่ายครั้งเดียว)

ค่าใช้จ่ายระหว่างดำเนินงาน = 141,000 บาท + เพิ่มเติม - ต่อเดือน - สำหรับ 50 ตัว

= 216,000 บาท + เพิ่มเติม - ต่อเดือน - สำหรับ 100 ตัว

ยิ่งได้รับการบริจาค อาสาสมัครและการสนับสนุนมากเท่าไหร่ เราก็จะยิ่งเข้าถึงสัตว์จรจัดและช่วยพวกเขาได้มากขึ้น

- เงินเดือน สัตวแพทย์ (1 ท่าน x 30,000 บาท – ต่อเดือน)

ค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มเติม = ขึ้นอยู่กับสถานการณ์

- ยาต่างๆ ( ขึ้นอยู่กับความต้องการ)

- อาหารและของจำเป็น ( ขึ้นอยู่กับสัตว์ที่ได้รับการดูแล)

และแผนการทำรถพยาบาลสัตว์เคลื่อนที่นี้จะไม่จบแค่นี้ หลังจาก VetVanประสบความสำเร็จและการเงินมั่นคงมากขึ้น เราจะเพิ่มรถมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งหาบ้านให้สุนัขและแมวจรจัด

รวมไปถึงบ้านพักสัตว์จรจัด สำหรับสุนัขและแมวที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือเพิ่มเติม
