We are 'KINDERGARTEN OF JOY'.
Founded by Albert Kahai, (Founder and Director of Hurumia Watoto Charity) 'KINDERGARTEN OF
JOY' is a small pre-school based in Mafinga in the Iringa District of Tanzania. We are giving children from
the community, both fee-paying and non-fee paying the opportunity to learn and develop in a kind, safe
and familial environment.
Currently we are in an interim building that is suitable for our current purpose, but as
our project grows, it will rapidly become unfit for our needs.
OUR PROJECT:
To keep up with the needs of our community and its children, we wish to build from scratch our permanent,
long-lasting 'KINDERGARTEN OF JOY'.
The aim is to have 2 classrooms, appropriate washing/bathroom
facilities and volunteer accommodation.
Volunteers and the generosity of friends and strangers alike are essential to this program. It is only
through this kindness and through donations that we will be able to move our project forward and achieve
what we hope to for the children and their futures.
It is our joy that we can provide even for
non fee-paying children with meals through fees and fundraising.
The children at 'KINDERGARTEN OF
JOY' are taught in both Kiswahili - the national language of Tanzania-
and English, something that is unusual but very progressive in this
country as generally English is only taught once a child is at Primary
School. We believe that setting up a child with the basics of reading, writing and counting in English is key
to ensuring the best of possible starts for them. The parents of those at 'KINDERGARTEN OF JOY'
are very proud to send their children here and it is regarded at the best in the area because of this
education in English.
People are important, and with the help of people we hope to grow our project into what we know it can be.
The children at 'KINDERGARTEN OF JOY' have joy and love to spare and potential in abundance. It is our
wish to help shape them and show them the generosity of people - friends and strangers that can help us
to help them.
Where The Money Will Go:
There are many areas of our project that need ongoing support from donations while still keeping our eye on the long-term building project.
- Building materials for the foundation of the new school e.g. cement, steel bar, bricks.
- Educational materials for our current classrooms.
- Rent for our interim buildings.
- Supplement for our non-fee paying children.

It's great to see what you are doing for the kids. I got this information from a Taiwanese volunteer Bonbon from Facebook and I will also post it on my own facebook page (Migi's Backpack). I hope you achieve the amount for those lovely children. God bless you!
