Our building, which has served our small business for over 20 years, became an empty shell in 3 hours.

Our story:

Our Clothesline warehouse was looted during the riots that occurred on 12 July 2021 - at 5.30am, looters set up burning tires at the entry points of North Coast Road and destroyed our warehouse gates, broke into our building and stole two entire floors of inventory, including the first shipment of new stock that we've been able to purchase in over 10 months. Our security company received alerts, but were unable to get through the fire barricades and rioters on time. The looters stole the batteries out of our delivery vans, and then broke the windows and stole the keys for good measure. All of our office equipment has been taken - from all of our computers to the small bench in our reception area.

Devastation doesn't feel like a strong enough word to describe what has become of our little headquarters. Our staff have no stock to fill, no computers to check on our stores, and no vans to send out.

We are go-getters. We are proud. This makes it difficult to ask, but we really need some help. COVID has brought us to our knees - we've already closed 7 of our 10 stores, taken out loans, and had to lay off staff members that we consider family - and this was the final straw. For those who can, please help us raise funds to keep our small business afloat and keep our remaining staff employed.

The funds will be used to:

1. Replenish some of our core inventory so we can keep our stores open and get back on our feet

2. Repair one delivery van

3. Set up one computer space and server to get our stores back online

4. Replace our doors and gates for security

Thank you for all the love and support that we've already received - it has kept us strong. We've been staying positive for Clothesline since COVID began and we will continue looking for the light at the end of the tunnel - we hope to see all of our beloved customers again soon.
