Help build a safe home for a family whose house got destroyed in an earthquake in Petrinja, Croatia

It took only ten seconds to lose a home we've been building for 10 years, and it could take another 10 for all the necessary permits and promised governmental funds to arrive.

We don't have that much time to spare. Ever since the earthquake, we have been living in a barn in our backyard. We need to start rebuilding as soon as possible. Our goal is to get the destroyed house removed and build a new wooden home that will be more suitable for the seismically active area we are living in.

Fifteen years ago, we bought a country house and created a happy home. We thought we would spend our lives here in peace and nature, surrounded by animals.

In that small house, our son took his first steps, spoke the first word, and started attending the nearby school. House where we woke up every morning, had breakfast, and went to work…

Until the early morning of 28.12. when our whole area was shaken by a strong earthquake. The house cracked dangerously even then. But the next day something much worse happened, another earthquake, this time much stronger, magnitude as high as 6.4. In those few seconds, most of everything we had built over the years collapsed. Our dreams and hopes have also collapsed.

The house is too badly damaged and we can't continue living in it. Now we can no longer do it alone and we need your help. We have to build a new house from scratch and we don't have enough money for that. Help us build a new and safe home for our child in which we can continue to create memories.

Prije 15 godina kupili smo kuću na selu i stvorili sretan dom. Mislili smo da ćemo ovdje provesti život u miru i prirodi, okruženi životinjama. U toj maloj kući je naš sin napravio prve korake, progovorio prvu riječ, iz nje je krenuo u obližnju školu, u njoj smo se svako jutro budili, doručkovali i odlazili na posao… sve do ranog jutra 28.12. kada je cijelo naše područje zatresao jak potres.

Kuća je već tada opasno puknula. Ali sljedeći dan se desilo još nešto puno gore, ponovni potres, ovaj put puno jači, magnitude čak 6,4 . U tih nekoliko sekundi srušila se većina svega što smo godinama gradili. Srušili su nam se i snovi, nadanja. Kuća je prejako oštećena i u njoj više ne smijemo nastaviti živjeti.

Sada više ne možemo sami i trebamo vašu pomoć. Kuću moramo izgraditi ispočetka, a za to nemamo dovoljno novaca. Pomozite nam izgraditi nov i siguran dom za naše dijete u kojemu ćemo nastaviti stvarati uspomene. I malom donacijom puno pomažete i postajete dio jedne velike zajedničke priče o humanosti, ljubavi i novom domu.
