Help bring our Dada home

Over the course of December 2017, my grandfather Danilo Sarabia was rushed to the hospital three times. He had complained about a headache the first time, but didn’t get confined; the second time, he had suffered a second stroke (the first one being in 2010).

On the 20th of December 2017, days after we had just brought him home, Dada was, for the third time, rushed to the hospital due to stroke. A few complications arose as well during his stay in the ICU- his throat was closing up, he got bed sores, and to add to his difficulty of breathing and swallowing, he got pneumonia.

Our family has spent Christmas and New Year’s in the hospital with Dada. He had just underwent tracheostomy to help with his breathing, and although he is considerably getting better, our family is still knocking on your hearts and asking for your help.

As of 6th of January, our running bill is around P305,000 not including the doctors' professional fees. Dada has six doctors: one neurologist, one pulmonologist, one cardiologist, one endocrinologist, one anesthesiologist (for the surgery), and one surgeon. According to the doctors, he might be home either by Monday (8th of January 2018) or by the end of the second week of January. The hospital is demanding for us to deposit P50,000.00 every other day- and if we fail to do so, they will stop medication. We would then have to pay all medications and medical procedures on a cash basis. For a middle class family like ours, that is just too difficult and too much.

We are now struggling with not only medical, but also miscellaneous expenses (food and transpo). Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated.
