Help bring hope to Brgy San Isidro (Marihatag)

The Batch 2009 is one of the hosts of the Pakighimamat (Reunion) 2017 celebration to be held in December 2017. As the host batch we intend to conduct an outreach program a day prior to the Pakighimamat 2017 celebration.

As a group, the Batch 2009, has initiated a small outreach & feeding program last February 18, 2017 as shown on the video to conduct a survey of a chosen Barangay in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur - Brgy San Isidro. Other than to conduct the small feeding program, the outreach intended gather less fortunate people in the community to assess their needs and what help we can give to them. It became apparent to us that the main dilemma of the families in the community was FOOD. A lot of the children are not able to eat 3 times a day due to poverty (their parents having very low income jobs or none at all due to lack of education and lack of available jobs in the community).

As a batch we determine that we cannot create jobs for the parents of these less fortunate children so that they can feed themselves long-term but we CAN do the next best thing - solve their food problem for the next few weeks.

So this December (target date: December 29, 2017), we plan to conduct the larger feeding program that can help the whole community (Brgy San Isidro). In addition, we intend to give each of the less fortunate families a food pack that can last them for about 2-4 weeks. To help us make this plan a reality, we are knocking into your hearts to help us in this outreach program to bring the cheer of the holiday season come December. Any amount will be a big help into giving hope to the whole family of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. All proceeds of this campaign will be used for this outreach activity. As a batch consisting of more than 50 people together with our co-host batch 2008, we pledge to be the volunteers of the upcoming outreach event. The success of this one will push us to do more of the same activity to the other Barangays and small communities of our Municipality of Marihatag, Surigao del Sur. All updates and pictures/video of the final outreach activity will be channeled to this campaign page and the PAKIGHIMAMAT 2017 facebook page.
