Becoming a doctor has always been a dream of mine. As a Clinical Clerk of FEU-NRMF who is a candidate for graduation this June 27, 2019, and who has been accepted in the Post Graduate Internship of the Department Of Health - Centers for Specialized Health Care, I am so close to making that dream a reality.
The value of education is something that I have understood from a young age. Neither of my parents had the opportunity to attend college, and had to struggle with finances to provide for us. I was able to help my parents in our family business back when we were still living abroad as a way of contributing to my family's budget. I would approach our fellow kababayans who were spending their day-off to try the Filipino delicacies my mom made such as puto and kutsinta. But no matter how difficult it was, they never failed to instill in me the value of good education and the love for learning. Because of their love and sacrifices over the years, I have been able to devote the time and energy necessary to excel in school even though money has always been tight. During my senior year in high school, I was ranked the 4th among our batch. In addition to focusing on my studies, I was also active in extra-curricular activities and was able to serve as the Vice Present of the 2014 FEU-NRMF MED TECH RICO BATCH.
I never thought I would make it this far because halfway through my medical school journey, we encountered an unexpected financial crisis. The tuition fee was way beyond anything my family & I could afford during that time but my family (risking our entire asset) and friends have fully supported me to be where I am right now. The hard work my family & I have encountered has finally paid off as I was able to place 62nd out of 302 students in our graduating batch.
Following graduation, I plan to do my Post Graduate Internship in the Department Of Health - Centers for Specialized Health Care, pass the Physician Licensure Exam (PLE), and further my knowledge by pursuing medical residency training. I now have an opportunity to become the first doctor in my family. The only thing left standing in my way is the ₱ 129,455 ($ 2,495) tuition balance I still have to settle. FEU-NRMF kindly extended the settlement date of my tuition fee until the 28th of May 2019 (3 weeks from today). Failing to do so means I will not be able to graduate.
Any donation, regardless of amount, will be a huge help in the transition of my life to the next chapter and I will pay it forward as a future accessible and socially responsible healthcare professional. All funds raised will go to my Tuition Fee Balance so that I can graduate this coming June 27. Rest assured that helping me in this difficulty will always place me in a humble position to continue applying the same diligence to my internship and residency training. Education and service to others has been and will always be my top priority. I will be happy to send you any information or fill out any application forms required.
