My sincere greetings, My name is Bongolwethu Harmans from SOUTH AFRICA. I am an accounting student from University of Witswaterstrand (WITS). I'm a humanitarian leader striving to offer another perspective for the youth, to help them see the capabilities they have and support them to do what they want to create change in their communities. A leader who believes that this world is in the hands of the young generation. A leader who is trying to awaken humanity and oneness.

Imagine if we all believed that a change in communities starts with a change in oneself.

Imagine if we all had unity, trust, love, and support for the other.

Imagine young people who are well equipped on what is happening in the world and what change they can bring in their own communities.

As they say you have to start small in other to create something big. This is my part for Humanity, how I play my part as a young person. In my community I saw a need for unity, for schools that produce learners who are ready for the world. It was all a vision till I decided to start a project in my previous high school. The learners needed extra classes and tutoring, and i knew I had to be that person closing the gap. Since then, my school has had a percentage increase of their results from 20s to 80s, which to me is just an indication of how much the youth can achieve working together.

I'm a visionary with a clear vision, to work and grow relationships with young people in order to tackle social issues. But.... as you can imagine, right now I would like to attend the School of Lost Borders' Young Adults
Rite of Passage. I am therefore running this campaign in order to raise the necessary funds to get to Los Angeles from Johannesburg, South Africa. I believe this will help me to learn new skills in another country so that I can implement them in communities in South Africa. I'm a role model to many and I wish I can do more for them.

I want to be a part of this amazing event.

The School of Lost Borders schooloflostborders.org offers vision fasts and Rites of Passage training which highlights self -trust, responsibility, and understanding about one's unique place within society and the natural world. The programs provide guided opportunities, perspectives, teachings, and much needed self -reflection time in a non-judgmental yet challenging environment.

I want to attend because I want to experience humanity from a personal level, to be in places where there's love, feelings are accepted and are okay and there is integrity. I want to transform, learn and expand my leadership skills that I have so that I can attack issues differently as a leader, so that even those who around me they can grow as an individuals. I just want to what does not serve me, let go and make my own passage to a new life. I want learn from people who are older than me and who have been doing what I'm doing. I want to learn to lead in such a way that will accommodate everyone in my community.

Last year I attended the Global Youth Peace Summit which was hosted by the African Dream Movement ourafricandream.org where I learned all about realizing myself and my potential. It awakened potential in me that I didn't believe I had. Through the summit, I have now become more involved in making a change in my community. The summit raised a humanitarian leader in me.

Since then, my life has dramatically changed as I got to realize that there is more to life than what I had been used to. I can now speak my truth, I can call myself a leader of service, and I am a student in learning. With all the potential, I have applied for the 2019 Young Adults Fast, and I am excited to write this and talk about how in July this year, I will be joining the Young Adults fast in California!!

This to me sounds all like a dream. Just a few months ago I was in a place that felt like home, in the wilderness with amazing people. 2 months from now, I will be in the wilderness again with amazing people, but most importantly, on a journey for my own personal growth in order to fully avail myself to the world.

Your contribution towards my attendance will make a significant change to my life. As I step into this new milestone of my life, entering into the unknown for my life, the rite of passage is exactly the place where I want to be. I am raising funds for my travel to the United States to attend this event.

Please kindly share this with your network in order to reach as many people as possible. Remember, a small contribution goes a long deep way.
