Help Bilal Breath Alone

A couple weeks ago we sadly found out a very old friend who once used to live in the UAE, is suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis, and has been relying on machines for the passed 7 years of his life just to be able to survive.

Bilal 57 year old Jordanian citizen, a husband to Aysha of 47 years and father to 6 children, Ghayda his eldest is 23 years old, Razan is 22 years old, Tasneem is 19 years old, Farah is 17 years old, Abdul is 10 years old and the youngest is Ghena who is 6 years old.

While the years passed his condition worsened, for 4 years he was on and off the machine, but for the last 3 years he has been on the machine 24/7 - 365 days a year. Mostly confined to his bed which prevents him from spending quality time with his family, as it is not the easiest to move around with a machine and an oxygen tank.

Bilal has been living like this for the 7 years, what quality of life does he have? He was declared unfit to work, which added a financial strain on him and his family, also Bilal is the main supporter of his family. He does receive approx. 282 USD a month to help which is not enough for his treatment and and for sure not enough to support family. He had to compromise his own life for his fa
Bilal wants to get better, he didn't want to miss out on the important years of his children childhood. He is mentally strained of having to battle life everyday. From taking his family out on picnics every holiday today he is barley able to take them for a walk.

He got in touch with Gleneagles Global Health City, to see if he has any chance of getting better, they replied, where they have to do tests and clinical evaluation in order to evaluate his condition to determine if he can undergo a bilateral lung transplant.

It is great news, there is a cure out there, just for the evaluation he was quoted around 5,000 USD.

The approximate cost of a bilateral lung transplant is 60,000 USD this is included the surgery, the organ and 21 days for his post recovery.

The waiting time is around 6-7 months till he can receive the transplant, for which his monthly expense would be around 850-900 USD month, not including food which is anoth
Not to forget the cost of transportation, he would need to travel in a special aircraft that can carry his oxygen tank and machine.

How could Bilal afford all of these expenses on a budget of which is around
280 USD.

قبل أسبوعين اكتشفنا وللأسف الشديد ان لنا صديقًا قديمًا كان يعيش في الإمارات العربية المتحدة

، والان يعاني من التليف الرئوي، ويعتمد على الآلات ما يقارب 7 سنوات من حياته ليتمكن من البقاء على قيد الحياة.

بلال مواطن اردني يبلغ من العمر 57 عامًا ، متزوج وأب لستة أطفال أصغرهم 6 سنوات.

على الرغم من مرور السنوات على تدهور حالته ، فقد كان يحتاج لآلة الاكسجين كنوفترة إلى فترات لمدة 4 سنوات ، ولكنه الآن منذ تقريباة3 سنوات ظل يتنفس على الجهاز على مدار ال 24 ساعة طوال أيام الأسبوع. محصور في الغالب على سريره الذي يمنعه من قضاء وقت ممتع مع أسرته ، حيث أنه ليس من الأسهل التنقل باستخدام آلة وخزان الأكسجين.

منذ أن أصيب بهذا المرض تم تشخيصه بان نسبة العجز أكثر من 75% وبذلك هو غير لائق للعمل مما زاد عليه من الضغوط المالية عليه وعلى أسرته علما انه هو تامعيل الوحيد لهم كما أنه يتقاضى تقريبا مبلغ 282 دولار أمريكي شهريا وبالتأكيد هذا لا يكفي ليعي اسرة او لعلاجه.

فلذلك قام بالبحث وأجرى اتصالاً مع مدينة جلين إيجلز العالمية للصحة لمعرفة ما إذا كان لديه أي فرصة للتحسن ، فأجابوه، انه يتعين عليهم إجراء الاختبارات والتقييم السريري من أجل تقييم حالته لتحديد ما إذا كان بإمكانه إجراء عملية زرع رئة ثنائية.

لقد كان نخبر اسعد بلال بان هناك علاج للتقييم الذي تم نقله إليه حوالي 5000 دولار أمريكي.

كما ان التكلفة التقريبية لعملية زرع الرئة الثنائية هي 60،000 دولار أمريكي ، بما في ذلك الجراحة والعضو و 21 يومًا بعد الشفاء.

ستكون مدة الانتظار حوالي 6 إلى 7 أشهر حتى يتمكن من الحصول على عملية زرع الأعضاء ، والتي ستكون مصاريفها الشهرية حوالي 850-900 دولار أمريكي شهريًا ،وهذا لا يتضمن الطعام او تكلفة النقل علما انه سيحتاج إلى السفر على متن طائرة يمكنها حمل خزان الأكسجين.

كيف يمكن لبلال أن يتحمل كل هذه النفقات والمصاريف وكلنا الان عرفنا وضعه المادي والصحي والنفسي..

هل لنا أن نجتمع جميعًا كأمة واحدة وعالمًا واحدًا وأن نساعد أخينا وعائلته على الخروج من هذه المحنة.
