Help Baby Natalia Asher treat Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) for our baby next surgery

Dear connections and friends,

We are knocking on your good hearts for any financial help you can extend to our precious newborn baby NATALIA ASHER BERNALDEZ ACLARO.

She was diagnosed with Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) after series of Blood tests, Fecal test, Ultrasound and X-rays. NEC is a serious illness in newborns. It happens when tissue in the large intestine (colon) gets inflamed. This inflammation damages and kills some tissue in your baby’s colon. The condition causes intestinal tissue to die. It can also cause a hole in the intestine. Bacteria can leak through this hole, causing serious abdominal infections. Some infants need surgery to remove the damaged intestine.

Last 12^th of September 2021, our baby Natalia underwent laparotomy (first surgery) after the Doctors found air outside her intestinal walls which indicates she had holes in the intestine. Doctors have removed parts of her ileum and appendix when they found five holes.

For the mean time, her poop will come out of her stoma to rest her bowel system. Our baby Natalia is currently recovering at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Dr. Jesus Delgado Memorial Hospital in Kamuning, Quezon City.

She will need to undergo second operation after few months when she already regained her full strength and recovered, to return back her intestines to its normal function.

As our baby’s hospital bill is running more than our family can afford, we are humbly asking for you help to finance her next surgery, NICU bills, medicines and regular checkups. She is now taking care of with colostomy bag while preparing for the second operation.
