My name is Matt Andrew Banzon Gracia. If Papa God bids, I'll turn 1 month old tomorrow.
I was born two weeks earlier than I was supposed to, underweight, and barely breathing.
Mama and Papa are not sure what's really wrong with me. The doctor says I have a weak heart and down syndrome. Then she ruled out down syndrome so we thought we'll only have my heart to deal with but yesterday they had my abnormally large stomach checked by ultrasound and we'll find out tomorrow what's wrong. What we know right now though is that I have to stay in the Intensive Care Unit until I get well.
The ICU is my warm refuge but we don't know for how long. You see, my parents are simple people. When they got married and had me, all they planned for is a simple life. Mama is a computer store attendant and Papa is a contract worker in the Middle East. They have saved a meager amount of money to build our small simple family but now, all those savings are gone with our ballooning hospital expenses.
Papa has no contract work at the moment and Mama has already reached the maximum loanable cash at her company. We have also exhausted all efforts to borrow money from close friends and relatives but the raised funds are not enough to maintain my medicines or to cover our current hospital bill, which would continue to bloat until I get well.
Mama wants me to fight so I am fighting for my life, one breath at a time. Mama is desperate that's why she is knocking to your kind hearts and seeking your help.
Hope you'd help me have a fighting chance to live.
Thank you for reading my plea for life.
Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
