Help Baby Matmat to have a new Liver

Jesus Martin Candila, or Baby Matmat as we call him was born last February 9, 2020 by my sister Rechel Escudero. Last May, Baby Matmat was brought to the National Childrens Hospital in Quezon City. He's admitted to ICU for several weeks and was diagnosed with Bilary Atresia, a very rare disease for an infant.The Story

He's admitted to ICU for several weeks and was diagnosed with Bilary Atresia, a very rare disease for an infant.

According to https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/liver-disease/biliary-atresia, biliary atresia is a condition in infants in which the bile ducts outside and inside the liver are scarred and blocked. Bile can’t flow into the intestine, so bile builds up in the liver and damages it. The damage leads to scarring, loss of liver tissue and function, and cirrhosis.

As of today Baby Matmat is already out of the ICU, but doctors are suggesting a liver transplant surgery as soon as possible. My sister (Matmat's Mother) will be the liver donor. Here in the Philippines, the operation would cost for about 5-6 million pesos, a huge amount for a family whose income will only suffice for daily needs. Now that my brother in law is also in the hospital to take shifts in attending to Matmat and my sister, he is forced to take a leave from work.

Amidst this pandemic, we are knocking to good samaritans in this community to help fund the operation of Baby Matmat and give him a chance to live a normal life.
