Help Anyonje Complete her University Education

Hi, my name is Anyonje Okumu. I’m going into my final year of my first ever degree studying as an undergraduate at the University of Nairobi - Kenya. I am a very determined student currently studying Bachelor of Commerce – specializing in Operations Management & HR.

My wish and dream has always been to become a graduate because I know it will give me and the people around me countless opportunities in life. I’m blessed to have supported my college expenses through my savings from many numerous small contract jobs but unfortunately due to pandemic, having a severe economic impact on individuals and organizations it has made it almost impossible for me to get the small contract jobs to afford the cost of paying for my final year of university.

I strongly believe earning this degree will be an asset and a big boost to me in achieving my career and personal goals, to my family and the community as well in the sense that I will get to help, empower someone else fully and create impact. So far the university has acquainted me with the contemporary knowledge of business and people management which greatly helps me in executing volunteer works, currently I’m working on a volunteer project as a volunteer to empower the less fortunate slum dwellers with digital skills where they can get to empower themselves and transform their lives through starting small businesses. As a volunteer in this project my main role is to design, develop, implement and evaluate bite sized trainings to increase their efficiencies in their small business processes, resulting in financial gain for them improving their living conditions in the slum.

Economically speaking, I understand things are tough all over but without extra help I will not be able to return to University of Nairobi this upcoming semester that begins in the month of August and complete my degree. I have also applied for scholarship funding programs but I have not succeeded to get the financial aid that I need. If there’s any way you can give, any donation it would make a really great difference.

Your help will really mean a lot to me and these donations will help me pay the remaining portion of the balance I have for my tuition. I only need tuition fees as for accommodation, transportation cost to the university and meals I have it taken care of.
